Quite simple, to me as a Brit, America comes aross as a scared nation, why, because of here, Collarme.com,the  Politics and religion forum. Is this a fair representation of the Ameerican peoples, or is it some on here make you appear a lot worse than what you truly are ?

Well, if we were to judge all the U.K. by you, I'd have to conclude the British are not very bright, and like it that way.

Fortunately, I know better than to do so.

I know of a few who Brits who have left this website due to  much of what I feel, I am very near to tht myself, but I am one who perhaps foolishly hangs on, hopefully to at least make people have cause to think.

Admittedly I find this forum, perhaps even this website brings out the worst in me,to that I apologise, but I have to ask,why is that so.Is it because of those whom I mostly try to communicate are foreign to my way of thought ?

What?  Brits have left this forum because some citizens of the U.S. feel emotional and talkative and argumentative over politics?  There are some generalizations I could make about Brits, but I choose not to judge an entire nation by the actions of a few of its citizens.

I believe there must be something external that is exaggerating your feelings and perceptions. Nothing has changed in tone or methods on forums such as this for the life of the internet.

If people are saying they are leaving because of this, then I call BS.

I suppose the question could be asked of the Brits that were here, who is still here and who has not put in an appearance for a good long while.

Now undoubtedly there are those that are doing other things, perhaps too busy to come here, but then others are busy, but they manage, so what is happening, is it there is something in the air, or is it this place is changing, and not for the better.

I tend to view people leaving and new people arriving as part of the normal life of on-line existence or message board existence.  Sometimes people have other  things they need to concentrate on, or other forums that become favorites.

When one considers that America is one of the only un-invaded countries(the Aleutians don`t count)in the world, one has to wonder why there is so much paranoia and so many militia groups, conspiracy groups and politicians who pander to them.

It`s almost as if boredom produces the fear.

Look at how many European countries have been invaded, raped to death and butchered and how many times?

There`s nothing quite like the bed-wetters we have here in the home of the brave.

This

I'd also have to conclude that many Brits have some serious issues with inadequacy, when it comes to their own, domestic politics.

Owner59, you could have a very valid point there, the US as a country has never been invaded or attacked prior to 9/11, perhaps witth all that the US has, it is a safe'ish country. So why is it the way it is , for it does come across as very scared, or is that only what we see of your politicians on the run up to the mid term elections, they pander to the insecurity in people to achieve what they need ?

@...just about everyone.

I reckon Anes point was not judging americans from the few, but from the many. I don't take pah to be the typical american any more than I'd like you guys taking An as the typical Brit. It's not that he's taking some few nuts and extrapolating, it's that he can see the way every american here, without any exceptions I've noticed....discusses politics.

Though I wouldn't particularly agree with his conclusion...he's not basing it on a minority, he's basing it on all of you.

And since ya bring it up, the stereotype of Brits having unhealthier teeth isn't any more backed by the facts than us having a higher crime rate because we don't have handguns, or more unemployed because of socialist policies.....

All that paranoia and fear was here prior to 9/11.

Funny, the same bed-wetters who are now terrorism "experts", didn`t know who bin-laden was before 9/11.

These are the same bed-wetters who were chanting"No War For Monica,No War For Monica"on the Capital steps when Bill Clinton was sending cruise missiles deep into Afghanistan to kill bin-laden.

As well, the same bed wetters are behind the recent spike in Islamophobia-for-votes strategy.

Not only was the U.S. invaded and attacked before--it was by the British (War of 1812--including burning the White House, a target the 9/11 attackers failed to hit).

Is this why the Brits scare the fuck out`a me?

I`ll let them off the hook after saving the world from the nazis.

All`s forgiven.....
