.... and finished...  NaNoWriMo... 50,000 words.  26 days.  Go me.

How did it happen?

One day, a friend mentioned National Novel Writers Month.   A call to the writers group with details came a bit later on.  How many words?       5,?  Impossible!

Ah well.... can't resist a challenge.  So off we go!  A little light reading, and well, heck  *I* can write at least THAT good!

Week 1:    Let's all meet in a coffee shop!  Write a little, read each other's work, chat a little.

YAY!

15,000 words finished.... more or less... a fun new program to play with.  oooooo

Week 2:  a lot more coffee, and the words flow effortlessly
The writing group meets, helping each other!
There may have been some crying... and some cleaning up. from writing gut wrenching scenes.

25,000 words complete more or less.

Week 3:  Please... distractions.    Can't... take it... anymore.  ...

Let's write a different story!!!
that idea!  Phone calls, emails...   Grrr.  No slacking off.   Don't hurt me!
You can do it!  You can do it!

33,000 words done... more or less...
week 4:  What is left to write?  No more ideas! Too tired to write.
This book is torture!I surrender...  Help!

Day 23:  The group >>>>><<<<< sunshine

Day 26:  Finished
How to celebrate:

Best,
sunshine

YAAAY! Congratulations. I'm still down 11,000 words... don't know if I'll make it or not, but I'm going to try to knock those out today and tomorrow.

Calla - did you make it?  There's only a few hours left here in Korea... (And are you gonna get a t-shirt?)

Yes, I made it. That last burst was effective, and took me over 72,000 words... I'm not getting a T-shirt, though. The one I liked doesn't come in a size to fit me, and I look -horrific- in regular t-shirts... so I'm going to skip this year.

YAY!   yeah, I was over 15,000 more than necessary - I'd written a whole section that I'd forgotten!  I don't think I'll get a t-shirt either, but I sure did download the pdf that said I'm a winner!
