Does anyone know of any sites I can find good info on bloodplay or bloodletting. It's something I am interested in trying along with my Master but we aren't sure where to start!! Any suggestions would be helpful..Thanks!

I can't say that I know about any sites.  All of the information that I've gathered about various forms of play that are related to blood (and therefore blood play) have been through demos, personal instruction, and such.  There are a few of us on the boards that do enjoy blood play.  However, I can't say that I've learned any of My techniques on the internet.

This is really something you should learn in person...

I agree. This is something that is best learned in person. One place you may want to start is with your local body-mod/piercing community. I developed my interest in blood play while learning phlebotomy and starting IVs as a paramedic -- but the artistic and fetish end of it was perfected with a mentor from the body-piercing community. He was an amazing teacher, with an excellent grasp of the aesthetic and psychophysical aspect of blood, needle, and piercing play, cutting, branding, etc. The hands-on experience was invaluable, and now I try to offer that same hands-on experience in my own community for others who are interested in blood-sport.

Thanks everyone...guess this weekend will be step 1 then! He actually did pierce me already, and that went rather smoothly...Blood has always been a very curious thing to me and I have been dying to play in it and with it for quite sometime..we thought fake blood at first, but I think it would lose something, so we are going for the real thing..MINE of course!!

Be careful.  I know a woman who enjoyed bloodletting.  She became dangerously anemic; so much so he had to be hospitalized and on IV iron.  Small women, especially, are vulnerable.

Holds no interest for me.  Blood draws for medical tests is about as far as I'd go.

It takes a lot of blood for this to happen, though. It -is- important to keep track of blood loss, though -- especially when getting started with actual "blood-letting" play (not so much with piercing play, since there isn't as much blood loss). If one is actually -drawing- blood, then the normal parameters for medical professionals in this area is no more than 2.5%-5% of total blood volume (TBV) every 5 days (which is based on body weight). You can probably find charts online to give you the information on quantities based on your particular weight. If you are dealing with a menstruating woman, I err on the side of caution and stick to the 2.5%x5 rule... for males and non-menstruating women, I may, occasionally get up to that 5% level, but certainly, recreationally, not more than once every couple of months (large body piercings of more than 20% of the body or large-gauge piercings/suspensions included) -- remember that this total also has to include some leeway for necessary medical testing in the event that the person one is with has medical issues, and that general health and well-being ALSO play a profound role in the process. A -healthy-, menstruating female with no health issues may be able to handle a relatively frequent 2.5% TBV session a couple of times a week... but if the person has health issues, once a -month- or less may be a more realistic choice.
