MasterGold -> Disabled Master here (9/28/2004 11:18:50 PM)

Greetings,
Got a question for people. Do subs and or slaves "" shy away from me because I am disabled? Or that I have on my profile that I do wish for them to be able to work?
I ask this because this is what I am sencing, as I have emailed alot of subs and slaves yet alot do not reply.

Don't take it personally, dude. There's kind and unkind explanations for why a lot of guys don't get any responses, but the standard advice is that it takes a while to get a decent hookup. Usually you get guys complaining about lack of responses, and at the same time you get women complaining about too many offers. The consensus seems to be that theres a few hundred Horny Net Geeks trolling every lady on the site, making life difficult for everybody else.

I agree with everyone else here. If I were looking right now. It would make no difference to me you are disabled at all. As long as I knew up front.
There was a long discussion here about disabilities and the lifestyle a while back. Perhaps Proud will read this thread and help us out.

In my profile I state I am looking for like minded friends. Yet, I still get a minimum of ten unsolicited e-mails a day. Some days many, many more. None usually telling me they are seeking friends. I have even gotten e-mail from people asking me to Dominate them.
So, I think it is a wise thing to assume that many just don't read. Most are not here to be serious and they will spam anybody and everything. If only we could make sides up. Serious and not.

I do not think at all that your disability has anything to do with it.. it is just incredably difficult for anyone to reply to any ad placed from a dom.. and that there are so many "wannabes" and horney farts who just want a quick piece of tail that the average subbie ad gets thousands of replys... so they probably do not even read most of them after a while un less something special catches their eyes.. now how or what one does to do that if you can find it PLEASE share :-)

Dan,
We know that Ohio is a long way off from California, but when we attended the Folsom Fair/Fringe, we encounter quite a few disabled and handicapped people. They ranged from being wheelchair bound to amputees. We met and enjoyed talking to someone who reminded us of you. He also had cerebral palsy and had been coming to Folsom for over 10 years. They were on both sides of the spectrum, submissives and dominants. Other then the rest of the community of people there helping them when they asked, they were treated no differently then any other participant.

As others have pointed out, in general the position in the relationship pyramid of finding a partner for a D/s relationship is near the top - the thinnest part. Adding location, and a disability narrows the field even further. You need to do is accept that, or effect a change that would provide a broader base. I know you state quite emphatically that your are relocatable. But you might consider a preemptive move. You already are proactive in your search, but depending on how important this truly is, you may have to do more.

You are in no different a situation then many/most of the people posting to this and other sites like this. Finding anyone is not an easy accomplishment.

Merc & beth
