Mel Brooks.

I mean come on...Blazing Saddles? The guy's a genius!

Young Frankenstein is my go-to comedy film. Never fails to make me laugh. In fact, I might put it in and watch it now.

Mel Brooks is great although for some reason I didn't take to Blazing Saddles as much as Young Frankenstein (Marty Feldman was great) or the Producers. It does seem that comedy is a particular forte amongst these people as the list of great Jewish comedians is big: Groucho Marx, Jerry Lewis, Jackie Mason, possibly Chaplin, Andy Kaufman, Lenny Bruce etc. and more recently people like Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Sacha Baron Cohen...

Anybody mention Stanley Kubrick yet?

On a more personal level, my favorite is my great-great-great grandfather, who learned that all the young Jewish men in his village were being rounded up as cannon fodder for the army and war the next morning, so he and his brothers slipped out, dressed in women's clothes, and came to America.

Paul Newman FTW!

Plus William Shatner, Alicia Silverstone, Jonas Salk, and Milt Hershey.

But you can keep Roman Polanski, Bernie Madoff, Alan Greenspan and Julio Iglesias.

Call me a kiss ass and frown at me all you want, but my favorite is the guy that calls me up and says he loves my boobies.

After him... I guess I would have to say... Jacqueline Susann.

I meant more the denouncement of altruism, having a cult around her, and being Nietzsche minus logic =P

And as long as you believe in me, I suppose. No tongue biting though!

Leonard Nimoy, the LLAP gesture comes from something seen in his synagogue as a kid.

Okay, that was moreso my question. There are few that people consider philosophers that are lesser than Rand, but there is most definitely far inferior prose out there that people enjoy.

Glad we cleared that up :D

How can any American answering this NOT include Hyam Salomon??  Without him this nation does not exist, he was the chief financier of the revolution.

Also in no particular order:
Mel Brooks
George Segal
Matisyahu
and too many others to name.

Kosherly,
Some Knucklehead in NJ

P.S.  Although I am rather the atheist, I must say that Judaism is the only Abrahamic religion that makes any sense to me, but that is for a different thread.
