Running your fingers through your hair then touching your face gets what's in your hair on your face too.

I'm not a dermatologist and I'm not familiar with your skin condition but if you're having the same problem with your hair I'd presume that's where it's started.

Also it's possible that since you're coming up on winter the dryness in the air is making your skin flake more.

Also make sure that you're changing your pillowcases at least once a week, and if the symptoms start to diminish maybe consider replacing your pillows so whatever's in them doesn't go back to your face/hair.

And I suppose then people could ask well do you wait for your body to show signs of being dirty, an then the answer would no. However I've done it this way my entire life of bathing myself and washing my own hair with out input from a parent controlling it, and never had problems till I started to about a year go.

However I think a good conditioner might counteract the potential drying out medicated shampoos may do, and if my sehborric dermatitis lessens or even goes away, well then halaluhya, I'll take a lil dry hair over the constant dermatitis.

This is why those medicated conditioners might seriously help you, best of both words and non-dry hair.  Worst thing that happens is your hair is extra hydrated?

if you get in the habit of washing your hair every day or every other day your scalp will become accustomed to it and will make more oil to keep your hair from drying out too much. You scalp gets used to how often you wash your hair. Topping, my scalp is VERY sensitive to certain shampoos and hair products, and I'll get these terrible pimply sores on my scalp. I used to use coal tar products, but then I changed to the blue bottle of Head and Shoulders. My ex was a diabetic, and he would get the horrible flaky stuff in his beard, mustache and eye brows. The H&S was the only thing that kept it down. I use it every other day, and I've used it for at least 15 years.

Definitely talk to your doctor about your thyroid. My sister-in-law's sister had the same problem with facial hair and it turned out to be her thyroid. Cut your sugar and white flour intake; go with a fresh veggie and fruit diet and see if that helps too. It will reduce any yeast overgrowth that may be causing many of your symptoms.
