First of all no I don't do this,  this question is not about me, I think it's stupid and would never use hand cream for sexual lubrication.....




I know someone who keeps insisting it's ok, or should be to use Jergins  lotions as lube for sex, but  she's always complaining of vaginal itching and a bad fishy nasty smell, and yes, trust me sometimes it's baaaad , I can smell her standing next to her and pain though, and I am convinced it's because she uses this stuff inside her for lubrication while having sex. That and she uses douches and sprays and powders, wears panties that don't breath, and wears pantihose, ect ect, even though most gynecologists will tell you not to.

She just won't listen to me, she says well it's not scented, so it's ok to use. And nothing I say is gonna convince her differently, but I am curious now, so I am gonna ask ya all anyway.

LOL...no it's not ok to use as lube. It's full of chemicals and oils that are not safe for sensitive areas or internally. Sounds like your friend suffers from infections but refuses to admit it.

The fishy smell is a classic sign of bacterial vaginosis.

So, yes she likely has an infection.

The infection is caised by an imbalance between the good bacteria and the bad bacteria.
As the balance changes her symptoms may come and go.

The ingredients in a lotion can create an imbalance that could make one more susceptible...and since they are oil based they tend to stick around.

A doctor might be able to convince her.

I didn't think it was a good idea. I even gave her a extra bottle of my lube to try , because she didn't have any or know where to get it, that's why the lotion. , but even after I gave her some they just went back to the lotion.


I don't think even a dr would convince hersince her dr told hernot to douch it's bad n she won't stop

I have a friend who doesn't feel clean without douching. With her it is a kind of "dirty" that soup and water just can't fix.

how it world the lotion doesn't burn her I don't know because I have touched myself before after putting lotion on and it burned me up!! I could never see using lotion a lube. I know some guys use it when they masterbate but I can't see why a girl would want to, lube is soo much more slippery and its just made for there too lol

babygurlangel, yeah I can't see how either, and I agree lube is more fun, but well you can't stop people from doing what they will to their vagina's.

To be fair to her, last I checked - a few years ago - doctors were still divided on if douching is bad for you, if it's a matter of quantity or type, etc. While one doctor may tell you to stop, another may encourage you.

The lotion thing though... yeah... That's just not good. Obviously it's her business but this is also a health issue. You may have to be blunt with her about the smell and just say "Look... I smell you from here. It's gross. Please do something about it!" If she won't listen to doctors she may bow to the voice of embarrassment.

If I was sitting or standing next to someone and could smell them I would soooo tell them or at least say hey do you smell that? I am a very very blunt person by nature and sometimes I say things that make people upset but its just how I am. I would tell them and ask them to please please get medical help for it. I would also tell her its not good to go around with an infection down there it can always develop into a worse infection and impair fertility down the road and even if you don't want children now there is no guarantee you won't in the future(if you haven't had children anyway).

Ummmm... Jergens contains lanolin.. sheep fat... and is a very good culture medium for growning bacteria. Now, I'm not going to talk about the lady that convinced me to try Ben-Gay as a sexual lubricant.... look up the term "chemical dermatitis".

Tell her to try Nutragena Body Oil... it is sesame oil based and doesn't have a bad flavor. (if you have to ask, you are too young to know) It comes in a scented version and an unscented version.

Or, you can use a glycerine polymer based water soluble lubricant.... the classic K-Y Jelly. Now, if you buy it as "Ultrasound Gel" you can get it in a five gallon cube dispenser at a much cheaper per gallon rate than the small bottles from the pharmacy section of the grocery. ... (putting on very innocent look)... No one would sneak home with quart squirt bottles of ultrasound gel from the weld testing locker at work, would they?
