Been on them since I was 14, with 20 they removed 90% of my thyroid glands, I've been told that I need to take them for the rest of my life, if I take them regularly I am absolutely fine, sometimes the dose needs adjusting. About 4 years ago I moved and the docs here just did the simple tests, not the reverse ones, declared I am fine and they will not give me the pills, within 2 years I became almost a wreck, depression ridden, joint aches, dull hair, bad skin, weight gain, I was basically going to pieces. Went back to my old doctor, they told me my nodules grew back, I need to get back on them ASAP, sent a filthy letter to the docs who refused it to me, I'm back on them now, feeling fine, energetic and back to my normal self and seeing a specialist who monitors my condition. The other docs tried to put me on antidepressants, which would have worsened the situation because they also tend to block the thyroid, tried to tell me that I have an abnormally early menopause despite the hormone readings being fine...
