There once was a slave with so much to do,but she frequently satand thought just of You.Her hands touched her throat,and still nothing was there.She had begged for a token,yet still it was bare. The years passed by slowlyand she secretly weptfor that simple tokenthat proclaimed she was kept.So many times she had knelt with great shame,and begged for the collarthat might bear Your name. You don't have the time, You can't find what You like;That one's too costly,or the time's just not right.Bowing her head so her tears can't be seen,she quietly wonders justwhat can this mean. She had begged just for a stringplaced on her throat by Your hands;or a slim strip of leather, plaited twine or silk strand.Something to touchand to hold when alone.A small simple collar,a promise she's owned. But she serves Master with love, obedience and grace.The shadows of sadnessshe hides from her face.The collar begged but not given, her plea ignored with no care;her hands touch her throat her heart dark with dispair.
