I've played in B&D for many years, but this is the first time I've actually started researching slave life.

I can already see a few parallels between yoga and slave life: discipline, orgasm control and release of self. I'm curious if there are any other slaves that practice yoga and what your thoughts and experiences are with the two.

not yoga, but I do practice tai chi.

I have noticed that since I've started doing tai chi my pain threshold has increased significantly, mainly because I'm now more experienced at meditation and can focus away from the pain and into the pleasurable sensations I get from the pain. It also means I hit that lovely subspace more often, and more deeply

And I'm more flexible, which is ALWAYS a good thing!

Not a slave, but I teach my slave certain Tai Chi, and yoga techniques. Exchange of energy and emotion during certain things, calming techniques during others, stretching exercises, etc. Not the full gambit of either, but things that are useful.

Remember, not every one, just because they are a sub or slave engages in orgasm controll or denial. There is no one fits all "all subs n slaves do......"

very good point, just one of the correlations that I noticed in a general sense between the two.

Unique Raven's a yoga instructor, I believe. But not all yoga practitioners do tantric sex, not all d/s relationships involve orgasm denial. Every relationship is worked out between the people involved to fit their needs only.

I practice yoga and meditation on and off as part of my spirituality. I never used yoga or meditation for orgasm denial. Master uses orgasm denial because he likes to torment me.

Yoga and meditation though both help me in every area of my life. It has nothing to do with my "slave life" but with my life in general.

My slave life is just another part of my general everyday life.

Yoga is something I do. D/s is something I live. There is a difference. Yoga does not affect my D/s life any more than reading my favorite authors does, really. When I started, I was not in a D/s relationship so it was already a part of my life, if that makes any difference. Now, practicing meditation, which I do not do in conjunction with yoga, nor do I think it has that much bearing on my practice of yoga, has made a remarkable change in my life. I am more connected with energy and how it ebbs and flows, and I hope that does not sound too New Age. I am not into practicing any kind of religious technique, which I believe New Age philosophy is.
