ORIGINAL: porcelaine Although I agree that each person is entitled to approach their health and medical problems in the manner they deem best, I'd be very uncomfortable involving myself with someone that blatantly ignored medical advice from trained professionals. Maybe some examples would help. When I found I had diabetes, I went to a seminar on it, and had two sessions with a nutritionist, in addition to my primary doctor. The nutritionist told me that 25% of my meal should be meat, 25% salad (I think), and 50% vegetables. I knew that I'd never be able to eat that much vegetable, and decided that since I was getting my diabetes under control eating less, that I'd ignore her one-size-fits-all advice for now. I have taken diabetic vitamins although no doctor told me to. When I had IBS, I went to a chiropractor when medical doctors couldn't help. And got it fixed. Steven you are describing your own experience. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact that you self identify as a dominant person has zero to do with it.
