Definitely externally only, and I live in an apartment, so there are definitely neighbors.. but since I hear one set going at it every night, I don't really care.. okay, well I do but.. I doubt I'm a screamer anyway. ;) I think orgasms are just fine religiously, I just can't seem to do it alone. I can't imagine being able to get off with a vibrator through clothing (the hitachi). The eroscillator, with all the attachments is like 220 bucks. That's *insane*, especially if it won't work. I dunnooo. Then there's that wand essentials one that has seven speeds like the hitachi, but it's been out of stock forever at that collarme website.. What to do, what to do.. I appreciate all the advice! Hitachi is awesome. I'm not familiar with the other one.

I never had an orgasm with a little buzzy bullet type one until I had an orgasm with a hitachi. Whoever said that women learn to have orgasms was spot on. And yeah the little cheap ones make me go numb too if they don't have one of those rabbity things over them.

As far as having your first orgasm I'd suggest fantasizing for awhile before you even touch yourself, you have to be able to lose yourself in the moment to let your body relax.

Just for fun, I'm going to mention I have narcolepsy, which may be part of the reason I can't orgasm... if I fantasize for very long, or get super emotional/turned on, I tend to insta pass out, lol.. fun stuff :P

Have you talked to your doc about this? If you're afraid of/might pass out, this might consciously/unconsciously prevent you from orgasm.
Also as above if your family had any issues with female sexuality, and certainly if there's any history of abuse or violence, ditto doc and counselling together.

That being said:
After you've warmed yourself up literally and figuratively [erotica/porn/dirty pictures/lovely memories/fantasies, literally whatever turns you on], and you've enjoyed touching yourself [nipples, labia, ass, clit, wherever you like], I vote Hitachi! Everyone's different, but if I'm not sufficiently warmed up, hours of electricity ain't gonna help: I can't Hitatch until my feet tingle!

I've never talked to a doc about sexuality reality stuff, and would have no idea about any one in my family for that matter. ;) That's a lot of good advice, I think maybe I'm out of luck because none of that stuff really turns me on.. only another human being can generally do that. .. so maybe it'd be a waste of money. I do think the narcolepsy definitely doesn't help. I feel like it's such a rare thing, that they wouldn't really have any advice for me there about that from the doctor.. but I'm going to do some googling about that:). Should be interesting.

Honestly Hermione, altho I sing its praises every chance I get, because it truly does work for ME... no sex toy will or should guarantee successs, because we are all so different, even from day to day, different sensations have different effects, hormones, mood, time of the month, emotions, everything counts as being an aspect.
It is different in respect that it moves differently than most vibes, side to side instead of just back and forth, but there have been more than a couple of days where it just is too much or does nothing for me.
for 0ver a hundred bucks tho, honestly I would find something cheaper until you are happy with yourself and  your orgasm, it would be one hell of an expensive mistake.

Absolutely talk to your doctor about it. Docs are unembarrassable: they've seen and heard everything. If you're seeing a neurologist about your narcolepsy, they can get you started, or your family doc, or your gynaecologist.

I do go to a neurologist, but he's an old dude.. and ack.. I can't even.. imagine :P. He looks at me like some weird science experiment he's fascinated with, and he's somewhat creepy. I'm soooo shy. I really have a feeling he deals with mostly old people with sleep apnea, and there aren't a lot of narcolepsy specialists.. and I know my family doctor doesn't know anything super in detail with my narcolepsy.. it's very rare, after all.. I wish I knew where to get info on it. I looked it up, and I do see a lot of narcoleptics having lots of problems, women that can't, and men that pass out on top of their partners every time after the O for him, lol. >.> HHAHA yes true about a man's telethon. Someone should cry for me. ;) My narco is so hard to manage, there's basically on medicine approved for it (well two, that are the same thing, basically) and I'm allergic to it.. otherwise, there's adderall and GHB.. the first of which I take.. but it's definitely not going to help with sex.. sigh.. I dunno. Thanks, I think women not having orgasms really sucks. I feel like it messes with our whole-body/mind etc health too. I wish there was more research into it. I remember seeing there was a study with some implant in the spine that made all the women in a study orgasm, and none of which had. Wish I could get one. ;) Don't think they are going to actually market a surgical device though.

I repeat: ASK YOUR DOCTORS! If they don't know, they can find out or send you to someone, even a sex lab.
Both a GP and a neurologist would have had to listen to a lot of old chain-smoking, alcoholic or pot-smoking dudes whining about their self-induced erectile dysfunction and they help them: WHY NOT YOU?!?
Everyone is shy or embarrassed about something, but you have a great reason to do something about this now that you know help is available. And your docs made a promise to their gods that they would help, AND they get paid to help you: why would their response be any different?

First thing is to get your head in the right place. It really sounds to me like you're trying too hard.

Most women I've known (and men too to be honest) who were having orgasm issues were getting stress piled on top of stress because they weren't achieving their goal. (orgasm)

Relax, have a glass of wine, read a romance novel , get yourself truly in the mood, then LET it happen, don't try to force your way there.

For many people the ability to let down is a learned ability. You have all the tools but that head really does need to be in the right place, not thinking about work or family or not finding the "right one" etc etc, you gotta slow down and relax, just let it flow.
