You did not answer my question about Boehner.

But since you want to bring up another topic to avoid the question, I do not like the idea of mandatory insurance but I do not see any other alternative to people gaming the system.

When people that do not have insurance go to the emergency room and do not pay their bills who do you think makes up for the added cost?

By default he couldn't do any worse!
"Hey guys! Let's have some fun and pass this Bill without knowing what's in it!"
"Yeah, REMIND you of anyone?"
"Hey Pelosi, when you get done refilling those water coolers come on over here! Ha! Ha, ha, ha!"

Since he is not going to be the Democrat Minority Leader... I'd say no.

Will he be better than Pelosi at leading the his party's agenda in Congress and holding onto power? Ask me in four years.

But you can take this to the bank... if the Republicans lose the house in 2012 there is no way he's retained as Republican Minority Leader.

Yeah he could Popeye.

I'm from Ohio and remember when he was in the state legislature.

This man is a consummate politician.

His only goal is to try to stay in power.  He has very little to list as accomplishments in his time in office, other than that sickly-looking tan he has.

Firm, it is funny isn't it? Being forced to buy something or you get fined?
Don't the Italians call that, "protection?"
But, I bet you don't get fined if you're an illegal alien, am I close?

And yet... there is no ringing endorsements or praise for Princess  D'Alesandro, only that Republicans will be worse.

How the Republicans play into House Democrat Leadership is beyond me but... OK. Whatever gets them through the night.

Or, with Sarah Palin’s nomination the Republicans will give back 60+ seats in 2012! And Pelosi is the spine of the Democratic Party who could also be an excellent president.

Politico is biased and lies as does Faux News.

With Nancy's stellar leadership, maybe the Democrats can lose another 60+ seats in 2012!

68 House Democrats voted against her in the proxi vote and 43 in the final vote... I wonder
how many of those 43 will jump ship?

My look at that, a racist comment, from a conservative. How 'unusual'....

Wrong on all three counts, Teddy Humper.

I keep seeing this nonsense posted. Are you even sure what you are posting about?

There was a House Bill.
There was a Senate Bill.
Each had to pass the respective bills before they could be merged.

Negotiations between the House and Senate to reconcile differences between the two bills are expected to begin as soon as next week.

The House bill has stricter limits on abortion than the Senate, and unlike the House, the Senate measure omits a government-run insurance option, which liberals favored to apply pressure on private insurers but Democratic moderates opposed as an unwarranted federal intrusion. Mr. Obama has signaled he will sign a bill even if it lacks that provision.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/12/24/politics/main6017779.shtml

Seems many bills have this happen. Its only with THIS bill that it has become an issue. There are many similarites between the bills, but some big differences. That is what Pelosi meant. Gesh. Would think with the intelligence people claim they have on these boards, that part would have been obvious.

Yes, it's truly amazing.

Do you have auto insurance Popeye?

Isn't that a requirement?

You know, something you are forced to buy or you get fined.

Think I told you on another thread she is a great Speaker. She ran the house with precision and made headway into the agenda that was before her. She kept cool heads when they were needed (i.e. financial meltdown, not allowing indictments of dubya) and made sure votes got completed with the expected results. Compared to other Speakers both Dem and Repub she will fare far better than most. That you don't like her politics does not take away from her effectiveness. If she was less effective.....I think you'd be in love with her.

He's either from Mass, NY or Calif. They've outlawed humor in those states.
