ORIGINAL: slavekal Of course I am pre-owned by this age. But I am certified pre-owned. If I had not had some relationships by this age, there would be something seriously wrong with me. I really like the concept of "certified pre-owned." :D I think "pre-owned" may be a more relevant factor when considering a slave than a submissive. In addition to having had some relationships by this age (which I agree, certainly lowers one's "creep level!"), a pre-owned slave "knows the score." This person knows what they are are in for because they have experienced it before. What are they in for? With slavery, it's (a) anything the mistress (or the master) wants and (b) nothing that their owner does not want to give them. That's all. But the difference between imagining what that situation is like and actually having lived it can be immense, and in some cases the imaginer, no matter how much potential they seem to have, reaches a point where they cannot bring themselves to take that blind leap off one edge and trust to their owner to...well, to do whatever they will do at that point. (There are really no guarantees in this; just trust and hope, informed by the impressions gained of the person you give yourself to.) Although it is terrifying for some, from a pre-owned perspective, this leap is the easy part. Living with your decision, accepting whatever comes your way after making it, day after day, year after year, is the real test. Someone who has an informed idea of the scope of what that may entail and who still wants or needs it above any other style of life, might ... have a sound engine? ;) So, pre-owned, at least in a slave, means not only that he's leapt into the chasm but that he's experienced a good deal of "what happens next." And, while "what happens next" varies a lot from owner to owner, there are some common general features, some of them quite difficult or trying. If I were a potential owner of a person, I'd consider it a plus knowing the other individual had faced hard things before and preservered through them. Of course, just saying "I'm a pre-owned slave" is no guarantee to anybody that you actually are, but like any other assertion of experience, it usually becomes evident what is real and what is memorex during exploratory talks, similar to the way the truth of resume statements can be accurately judged in an interview if the interviewer is knowledegable in the field. Yes, pre-owned slaves come with patterns instilled upon them by their former owner(s) many of which may need to be broken down and removed, but I have seldom met someone capable of owning another person who didn't, to some small (but extremely perverse) degree, derive a little enjoyment from that pesky bit of "housekeeping." As for me, I am not only pre-owned but I am in the "just one owner" category. :D I bet Ol' Cal could sell me!
