uh, just how testy does everhope get when there is no more smoking allowed? sticking your dick in her mouth could be dangerous.

The best method, of course, is to not give up.

Skip all the drugs and other crutches. Go cold turkey! However, it must be done the right way. This is virtually the perfect timing to make it a New Year's resolution. You must start preparation for it today. Each day, every day, all day, between now and midnight Dec. 31st, tell yourself and EVERYONE you encounter, even total strangers, that come 12:01am 1-1-11 you will no longer smoke. In addition, tell them that if you fail, you will expect them to humiliate, ridicule, and harass you about it....constantly!

She may not want to suceed if failing will be that much fun!

I also voted for pruney cock. But you will let her up for coffee, right?

At one time, not too long ago, this house was smoke free and we rarely used coffee.

you bring up a good point. I’m not concerned about her biting me. However, she may try to light it and smoke it. DarkSteven’s fire extinguisher comment may applicable in ways he didn’t even think of.

Smoked sausage anyone?

Sir,

Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, and I've done some pretty hard stuff. I used the patch, Prozac, Ativan and lots of water. I carried a water bottle ALL the time.  The withdrawals for me mimicked those of a heroin addict. For some folks, it's a walk in the park, however, it's not the same for everyone. Good luck everhope and I agree with others about speaking to your Doctor about Chantrix, patches, whatever is needed.

Regards,
dovie

My ex used wellbutrin over 6 years ago and found it painless to give up smoking and he's never started again. Other people have said chantix worked for them. One person I know had to give chantix up because of the nightmares which are a side effect for some. I know one man who used nicotine gum successfully.

Good luck everhope! I sure wish my Mom would quit

the best method for Everhope is the one that works for her (helpful...huh?)

My advice is no matter what method she chooses, offer support and love and keep stressing to her that she is more valuable than her desire for a cigarette.

Best of luck to you both

Also take up a hobby such as knitting or something that will keep her hands busy, have  lots of low cal snacks around such as carrot sticks when having cravings, loads of water as already mentioned, meditation, relaxation techniques that should be used as soon as she recognises the craving happening...

this is a mindfulness exercise that I have used very successfully with people who want to quit ....

Everhope would be allowed as many cigarettes as she wants however she has to smoke each one mindfully (as opposed to mindlessly like most people do).
With each cigarette you are planning to smoke first take it out of the packet, roll it around in your hand, feel it's texture, inhale the aroma, notice the markings on it etc.
Take your time to get to know this cigarette before placing it in your mouth.

Ask yourself questions, for example:
What colour is it
is it heavy or light
what does it look similar to
what does it look different to?

Do the same with the lighter or matches.

Finally place the cigarette in your mouth and light it.
Observe what happens when you light it
is there a certain aroma as it is lit?
Describe the way the smoke curls in the air
As you inhale notice the sensations in your mouth
Describe them all to yourself
Where do you taste the cigarette in your mouth?
Which taste buds on your tongue are activated?
Notice how the smoke moves down into your lungs
(if you want you could visualise what the smoke is actually doing to your lungs, eg blackening them, burning the tiny hairs etc)
Do this for each inhale and exhale
Notice how long it takes to inhale...to exhale
What are the thoughts in your mind as you do this?
As you get to the end of the cigaretts does the experience or the taste change in any way?
How many times did you inhale for this cigarette?
As you butt it out observe what this feels like

etc etc etc .... this exercise is purely about noticing everything that you do while smoking so that none of the experience is lost.  It can actually be quite exhausting to smoke mindfully

You could make a rule that as long as ever smokes mindfully for the entire duuration of that cigarette that she can keep smoking.

Ever, you would have to look at each cigarette you are about to light up and ask yourself - why do I want to smoke this? If it is habit then put it back.  if it is because you truly want to experience mindfully smoking this cigarette allow yourself to smoke it.

as long as you smoked it mindfully don't beat yourself up about having a cigarette.

smiles... I don't know, it is worth a shot for she of the oh so schmexy voice

If she's having trouble with the habit, the action, rather than only addiction to nicotine and other chemicals, why not try an E-cigarette with a step-down option? For example:

Just another in the myriad of suggestions. Being one who is not a proponent of nicotine replacement therapy or the use of antidepressants, my suggestion is semi-cold turkey. You quit smoking in places, e.g. stop smoking in the bathroom, then stop smoking in the car, than stop smoking in a restaurant, etc. etc.

I quit using that method. First I quit smoking at work, it was easiest because thought that one or two cigs I was able to get in on a rare break really meant a lot, they were only a couple cigs. Then I quit smoking in my kitchen, again, because I didn't spend too much time in there other than cooking. Next was my living room, which was down stairs, and required me to climb up the stairs to the bedroom, or go outside. Then the bathroom. Then the car. Finally the house in total.

By that time, I had weaned much of the time I smoked, but even more so, I weaned the TRIGGERS that induced lighting up, which are the things that make quitting the hardest. Anyone can go cold turkey and get over the true withdrawals. It's the triggers you have to deal with. I knew that at work, it was easiest because I smoked so little, and also they were instituting a no tobacco policy on campus for everyone. So it was sensical to start there. The kitchen, I would always smoke a cig or two to get ready to cook. So taking out that trigger was fairly easy too, but important. The living room, I didn't spend much time in, and the room always was spotless for anytime guests came over. Having it smell nice and clean was an added bonus. The bathroom was another one that I didn't smoke in much, but it was a strong trigger, and a hard one to stop. The car was next because that was becoming a bit of a smoking lifeboat. Again, not many cigs, but a strong trigger to overcome.

By that time, which was quite a while, I noticed a better increase in my health due to fewer cigs smoked. I noticed a difference in the pocket book. I noticed I had control over smoking in the places I had eliminated, so going for the final elimination totally was so much easier. It also kept backsliding to a minimum, because I would smoke the occaisional butt at the club, but I didn't go full bore smoking again, I was able to contain it to that situation, and no problem getting back to staying smoke free.

i apologize for not getting back to this thread sooner. our work schedule has been hectic this past week, leaving little computer time.
thank you all for the many ways to succeed! you have collectively given some awesome suggestions.

being pretty self aware, extreme and masochistic in my behaviors for the most part.....(a good example look who i chose to serve) and find half way methods not very successful. stop smoking is something that i have done more than once in my smoking history, but obviously not with any long term effect. some of your suggestions,  i have tried with success and some i know would never work for me.
i found Wanders ideas on "mindfulness" very interesting and have been experimenting with this. not only with the cigs, but with certain foods also.
triggers are a big one for me!  give me a phone and i gotta smoke!!!

Master often reminds me that life is about choices. i chose to be a non smoker and have set December 27th as the beginning of a smoke free life.
it is so fun and cunt throbbing to think of Master's cock in my mouth and being kept caged 24/7...but big sigh and no surprise we live in a world that makes those options not real options in becoming a non smoker.

may we all find our bliss,
brenda
