You know some universities had assets as in toxic... maybe that is why they must raise the price.

To me, coalition means compromise, and a compromise I will accept given the situation of a coalition instead of an outright elected government. Two differing parties holding the top seat, then that means differing views which can only lead to a compromise, not all one and not the other, but somewhere in between as befits the government we have, which is to all intents and purposes, a between government ideally, neither one party nor the other,.Except Clegg has turned blue in exchange for power he thinks he holds by will of the people, and by the will of the people, he will discover the truth, back to a two party election in future, lib/dems a joke as they have proved themselves to be.

Anyway, regarding the protests, there are more coming, as indicated by the following website; http://anticuts.org.uk/?page_id=1258 The police are going to have their hands full, that is for sure, and they also are experiencing cuts themselves.

There are shedloads of protests to come. I keep hearing the phrase 'another winter of discontent' - another 1979 and the end of Callaghan's government. Coalition can work really well, but only if there are the right things (attitudes and institutions) in place to protect parties' fundamental principles. By far the biggest reason why coalitions collapse, where they exist in the world, is because of sharp disagreements on basic tenets. Of these, the most important are economic and fiscal policies. Beyond that, we don't have the political culture for coalition governments - not yet, at least - and it needs to get developed very rapidly. Hell's bells - Vince Cable is now on record as saying he'd never have signed the NUS pledge if he'd known he'd be in government. It's appalling. Even Lib-Dem members are aghast. That's one of the most astonishing things I've heard a senior British politician say for years. Now,the 'golden fleece' for Lib-Dems, the prize for which so much has seemed worth sacrificing - electoral reform - is looking ever more likely to get blown out of the window. It isn't just that the electorate will want to 'punish' Clegg and the Lib-Dems (though that's a major part of it) - it's also the fact that this issue of students' fees is such a terrible advertisement for the AV electoral system. AV will increase the likelihood of coalitions. People will legitimately argue, 'But this AV system will make it impossible for us to accept that any pre-election pledge is worth anything. In fact, candidates might just as well promise anything and everything in the world'.

Thank goodness I just finished uni [&:]
