Aneirin -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:26:18 PM)

Anyway, Einstein displayed behaviour which psychologists of today understand as a form of autism
Einstein and Newton and a video for those who have difficulty with reading
A key characteristic, is a different way of thinking, and reasoning a way often misunderstood by the neurotypical hence why the condition is called a disorder. That being although many say they understand his writings, my wonder is, do they  and with that, in completion, as focused analysis is required to understand the focused analysis of a person that thinks differently, a type of thinking which is to the majority, a disorder.

But as to my question from the OP, I have in some discerned that some of what I feel is felt by others also, and it does not follow an identifiable religious path, excellent.

Truthfully I thought your OP was self-answering. Everyone's god lies wherever they want him to. For Einstein and many scientists, god lies in nature and mathematics.

pyroaquatic -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:35:45 PM)

So instead of having an intelligent conversation about the location of god you would rather have a pissing contest concerning the effectiveness of insults??

Then you turn around and call someone immature.

Aggravating is the gall and guile of man in a circumstantial maelstrom of  chance.

I have no need to insult or demean you. You will continue to do it to yourself.

have a nice day.

Aneirin -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:36:41 PM)

Nope, it was a question, that is why I asked it, and I was pleased to see others understood the question and answered.

I didnt say it wasnt a question, I said it was a self-answering question, and the range of answers (including the obligatory Einstein hijacks) was totally predictable.

Aneirin -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:47:51 PM)

I desired other's input hence the reason for posting a self answering or other question on here.

Of what use was that input other than to verify what you already apparently knew?

Aneirin -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:51:13 PM)

I discerned the need to clarify my position.

pyroaquatic -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:52:20 PM)

Perspective is important as it helps to step outside of a comfortable mind.

:D

Aneirin -> RE: Where is God ? (12/8/2010 4:54:19 PM)

That also thank you

Did you read the whole thread? I responded to a statement that came after the OP, not the OP. And, The comment on the quality of the insult was tongue in cheek. Sorry I should have put LOL after it. I am beginning to realize that people are incapable of discerning deeper meanings on their own. And the, tongue in cheek insult came after Hertz posted a portion of a  study with no explanation of how that helped his view.

You should really know what you're talking about before you jump into a conversation.

No God, No Moral Compass?

He rejects the idea that scientists who reject religion are arrogant. "We know how many mistakes we've made," Dr. Weinberg said. And he is angered by assertions that people without religious faith are without a moral compass.

This.  I do not generally believe in anything that has not been published in a peer reviewed journal, but I do have a very strict code of ethics. In general, I think I conduct myself as a better citizen because of my completely secular sense of self respect, personal honor and dignity than I see a lot of religious people acting out of a supposed fear of going to Hell.

Might surprise you to discover how many religious people are just like you. I dont believe you have to be religious to have a moral compass...

Interesting how you avoided the article written by Einstein

Here is the link

But, i expected you already knew that. [:D]

You're doing it again. Are you incapable of making your argument without insulting others?

You posted a reference to a study with the suggestion that bright people are more likely than average to be atheists. I posted a reference to a study showing that bright people are more likely than average to have mental illnesses. Your atheists are crazy. Look, this isn't complicated - it's been shown in study after study that 90% of all studies are inaccurate nonsense. The remaining 10% are made up. I wasn't convinced by your argument, and I remain unconvinced. But rather than seeing my reply as an opportunity to debate, you took the easy option and reached for an insult. That's why I think you fail.

LOL.

Anyway of the believers in the God3 as I call them, the different interpretations, God, Yahweh and Allah may I ask those who believe, quite simply where is the god you believe in, where does it reside ?

If you can pin down a god to a place and name, then you limit that god and also place yourself of a par if not above said god, which makes you infinately more powerful than said god - in which case said god would be pointless to you.

Unless you are god.

Total nonsense. There are many things that I can give a place and name, and that in no way limits them or places me on par with them.

And as I said, total nonsense. Your claim that being able to name/place something in any way diminishes it is horseshit whether you are god or an imbecile.
