Google Earth is fantastic!  It provides me with endless hours of enjoyment.  It seems like a lot of areas are hazy, though.  How are we supposed to spy on people through all that haze?

I think it's only good for US addresses, but zillow.com is a lot of fun, too.

Google earth is the best time waster EVER!

The reason a lot of areas are hazy is because it doesn't make sense to make really HD pictures of east Bumfuck, Michigan, when 2 people are going to look at it.  West Bumfuck though, EVERYONE looks at.

Pro apparently has much better resolution, but it costs money.

Good way to waste an afternoon nontheless.

Yours,

benji

Google Earth is a program you can download (http://earth.google.com/) aand then essentially look at a 3D rendering of earth.  You can zoom in and look at buildings (mostly 2D, except NYC and such) and landscapes (3D), look up addresses, find businesses in the US, get directions, look at road maps, bookmark cool places, etc etc etc etc etc....

Pretty fun!

Yours,

benji

You can also punch in your home address and see a satellite pic of your home which you can zoom in on.

thing is...it's most of my county that's hazy - and it's not exactly underpopulated.  i guess they just haven't mapped it clearly yet

Maybe if you keep viewing your county over and over again Google Earth will suddenly get the notion that A LOT of people are interested in where you live and they'll make it less hazy.

LOL, thanks for letting me know, just what i need something else to goof off with, like it's not bad enough i feel the need to play these games on the threads. I should be doing laundry, dishes or just some sort of cleaning but thanks to all of you, who apparently aren't doing those chores I feel I have to stay and keep you all company lol

Actually, I've bookmarked everywhere anyone in my immediate family (1 Bro, 1 Sis, Mom, Dad) have lived.

It's about 40 placemarks...  Quite a project, especially in unclear areas.

Fun project:

Find the flying car.

Hint:

West coast of Australia.

And yes, it's there.

Yours,

benji
