newbie2kink -> Latex Stockings (12/8/2010 9:56:43 AM)

Hi,

I recently purchased some latex stockings, this being a new area of kinky/fetish wear that I'm exploring. My only trouble is they don't seem to want to stay up (around the middle of my thighs) I'm not sure if this was my eagerness to try them on without any talc, or if I have brought the wrong size. They seem to continually roll down my thigh and refuse to stay up. Having seen pictures of women in latex stockings online, it seems you are able to wear them without any suspenders. So I'm after some advice, have I brought the wrong size? or is there some trick that I don't know about when it comes to wearing latex?

Thanks,

Newbie2kink

I don't wear latex myself but by the sound of it, they're a size too small

As far as I know, latex stockings are usually one-size-fits-most.  Even if they're a little small, they should stretch to fit.  However, stockings of all sorts are known to roll, even when they shouldn't.  You may have to wear them with suspenders whether you like it or not.  Are your stockings molded or tailored?  If they're molded, then you'll just have to cope.  If they're tailored, you might be able to find someone who makes latex clothes to adjust them for a better fit.  Where did you get them?  If you went for a cheap, Chinese supplier, you may be out of luck.  If you got them from a reputable dealer such as TwistMyRubberArm.com or TheLatexStore.com, then you should be able to contact them and ask what to do or arrange for an exchange if there's another size.

As I am a bigger person I have not had any luck with latex stockings not rolling down my legs. Even when I purchase the XL version of the stockings. I have bought from Cocoon and other well known suppliers. I had to buy a latex garter to get them to stay up. Also wearing a pair of latex shorts/bloomers can prevent them from rolling down.

Would reversing them help? - Maybe they roll one way easier than the other. I'm eager to find out what some good solutions might be. Eventually I should get some for Girlmouse to go with her latex dresses.

Buy a good quality brand..the latex gauge (thickness) makes a difference to fit, you can buy formed stockings from extra small to extra large etc.. also if your thighs are particularly big, a one size fits all approach isn't going to work. If you have bigger thighs, they will roll down easily, use a suspender. The photos in fet mags and such, are usually taken whilst not actually moving around much, so the stockings don't get the chance to roll down.

With formed cheap latex stockings.. the main issue is usually splitting them when you put them on..

I recommend using a silicone based lubricant rather than talc when getting into your latex.

I agree with Allie about the silicone based lubricant. Other lubricants will destroy the latex. Its important that you wash the lubricant off the inside of the stockings when you have finished wearing them.

I'm a size small and I have always had problems keeping even the best of latex stockings up without some help. Latex garters are cute and they will do the trick. Failing that use a latex suspender belt but be warned, the metal on the suspender belt will discolor the latex. A good tip is to either ask your latex designer to slip you a little extra (same color) latex so that you can slip this between your stocking and the metal suspender loop or find a similar color, fine fabric and do the same thing.

I've thought about buying a pair to keep my legs warm, but would they?

They will indeed keep your legs warm. If you wear them for long periods of time you will also sweat in them. Which can also make your legs feel very cool especially with a light breeze. Strange but cool feeling.

If you make sure that your already warm when you put them on, then they will keep your legs warm. If you put them on cold legs, they will keep your legs cold (a bit like a dry suit)
