anniezz338 -> What are you afraid of (12/16/2010 4:59:26 PM)

A guy cruises thru a stop sign and gets pulled over by a local policeman. Guy hands the cop his driver's license, insurance verification, and his concealed carry permit.
"Okay, Mr. Smith," the cop says, "I see your CCW permit. Are you carrying today?"
"Yes, I am."
"Well then, better tell me what you got."

Smith says, "Well, I got a .357 revolver in my inside coat pocket. There's a 9mm semi-auto in the glove box. And, I've got a .22 magnum derringer in my right boot."
"Okay," the cop says. "Anything else?"
"Yeah, back in the trunk, there's an AR15 and a shotgun. That's about it."
"Mr. Smith, are you on your way to or from a gun range...?"
"Nope."
"Well then, what are you afraid of...?"
"Not a damn thing..."

“If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That’s ridiculous. If I have a gun, what in the hell do I have to be paranoid about?” -Clint Smith, Thunder Ranch.

Good post Anniezz.

Don't start that old shit on the drive shit now. Else I'll have to bring out things like madsci.ico from back when I ran Windows.

Not 95, not 98, not Vista, not Loghorn, not XP, not 7. Windows fucking period. It really wasn't as long ago as you might think.

WARNING : I never delete anything.

HA!  I remember getting those hard square disk in the mail as a kid for AOL or Windows 3.1.  I used to collect them and use them as coasters. LOL.  My parents didnt buy a computer until '98.  My father just recently retired the old gateway because it finally took a dump.  Imagine getting 12 years out of a computer with only a small RAM upgrade.  BTW they paid almost 3 grand for that setup.  Now computers 10x better than that one are going for a fraction of the cost.

Aint technology grand.

Mea culpa for the hijack, but now that the damage is done ...............

AOL 2.5 for windows. It had it's own GUI, cursors and everything ! Versions before that I think would run in DOS. In fact maybe 2.5 would as well. This was on an NEC 386 without the coprocessor (nor a slot for same) but it sported a floppy drive, a Whopping 40MB ! harddrive and a whole MB, yes you read it right, an entire MB of RAM.

But yes technology is grand. Now they got guns that won't shoot unless they're in your hand. They got cars that automatically adjust the seat and mirrors. They got all kinda shit.

Give me the good old days when a kid could find a gun in the street and shoot Mom. And firecrackers are fun too. Blow yer hands right off. Fuck seat belts, just make sure the damn doors are closed. You don't have to be chained down to be safe, usually.

Hmmmm, strap someone down in a car where they can't reach the controls for the stereo............MWA HA HA HAHA.

I'll have to make a note of that.
