How about you? Do you feel the standard acryonm of BDSM defines your intrests properly?

Firstly, i have a relationship. Secondly, that relationship includes kink. I enjoy B & D, and I also like a small amount of S & M. As for D/s, yes, that also. I'm a submissive woman who does happen to like all of the above so, yes, it works for me.

I much prefer "WIITWD", due to all the reasons already stated so well here by everyone else. What I do, and my orientation, is best described as D/s, M/s, or Owner/slave.

Oh, I do really like WIITWD because it's very open-ended while clarifying that I am out of the mainstream; I just haven't figured out how to pronounce it yet!

But surely "WIITWD" is equally relevant to gays - and nillas - and chimps hurling shit at touristy shutterbugs, too?

Focus.

Kink as a descriptor wouldn't really work for Me.  I'm probably reading too much into it, but the association of kink(y) for a lot of folks tends to lead to the next word being sex.  A lot of what I do doesn't have anything to do with physical sex.  It can, but quite often, it doesn't.  None of the casual play does, which is a good bit of what I do.

No, I think I'll just stick with describing it as sadism.  It fits pretty well.

Daddy and I were just talking today about kinkiness and sex, and how it was so much more than just sex, and how a lot of it has nothing to do with sex at all. So many people seem to think that's all it is, and it's not.

Thanks to the OP for  the question.  It got me thinking about the acronyms. BDSM and. DS.
A very long time ago like 30 years ago it was explained to me that the DS in the middle stands for both Discipline -Sado  and Dominance -Submission.
Bondage Dicipline (Dominance Submission)Sado Masochism.  That one is a little hard to explain in a short conversation.

A lot of things were underground and the meaning being somewhat hidden appealed to a lot of people. It also contained activities like bondage and discipline as well as personality traits like Dominance and submission.  and the ever popular sado-masochism.  It did not address power exchange very well so people started using Master Slave and Power Exchange.  Funny how no acronym caught on for those terms.   Anyone have a suggestion?

I as well as many other tended to separate BDSM and DS.  It was a lot simpler to try to explain the  it to the uninitiated.

Thanks to the OP this thread caused me to expand on my terms section on my website.
Check it out if you would like.  I hope you find it of some small use.

I try not to put labels on others but defining the terms we use can help communication.
I usually call myself a successful sadist.  An unsuccessful one is either in jail or unfulfilled.  A successful one has people lining up.

May you all never fit perfectly into any term, definition, acronym or box.

Sweetsub, who's to say that for those whom it IS all about sex it's not their right to feel that way? Personally if sex is the only reason some one does kink or bdsm then for them, YES it IS "all about sex"

Me too except I'd just leave it at "dominance".
