Status: offline 		Sorry, not me. I dont buy into the whole "global warming" bit. I think we are adding to it, but i also believe we are in a warming trend that naturally occurs. I have yet to see any scientific data to suggest otherwise.

Interesting rant.

While I can't compete with your eloquent words, let me offer you a different view.

No one is saying that natural warming and cooling cycles do not occur.

The question is whether anthropogenic causes are increasing the severity of those cycles.

As the link states below, there is no argument that greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere are increasing and little disagreement that it is from man-made sources.

Even assuming that we eventually find these man-made sources to have a negligible effect, would it not make more sense to err on the side of caution now?

Global Warming

Human activity has been increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (mostly carbon dioxide from combustion of coal, oil, and gas; plus a few other trace gases). There is no scientific debate on this point. Pre-industrial levels of carbon dioxide (prior to the start of the Industrial Revolution) were about 280 parts per million by volume (ppmv), and current levels are greater than 380 ppmv and increasing at a rate of 1.9 ppm yr since 2000.

It's simple. Increase in global temperature creates more water vapour, creating more precipitation, which in colder weather looks white and fluffy. Simple, obvious, and a 2nd grader could figure it out.

Do you really think that the massive change of forestry, seafood supply, industrialization over the past 200 years has no major effect on this ecosystem? Really? Well, I for one totally agree with George Carlin on this. The super environmentalists are nothing more than people who want their water and air to be nice, and that the real owner of the system is the Big Electron. So, in essence, keep your silly "it's a natural process" view. It doesn't matter. Gaia will get us all in the end.

One less mouth to feed is one less mouth to feed.

You have? How do you explain the increase of atmospheric CO2 if it is not by human activity?

If you've studied the data then you must be aware that CO2 is definitely a greenhouse gas and increasing the concentrations by more than 100 ppm since 1750 must have had an effect on the amount of heat the atmosphere can retain. So if AGW is a scam what is preventing the atmosphere from retaining more heat as the physics indicates it should?

So? The Earth is a homeostatic system, so a change in one or more variables is irrelevant.

Heat an atmosphere and it will expand, not so? An atmosphere with a larger volume will radiate more heat into space, not so? Increased evaporation will cause more cloud cover and this larger cloud cover will reflect more sunlight into space, not so? More CO2 in the atmosphere will cause more green things to grow, taking more CO2 out of the atmosphere, not so? (Mind that I am not admitting that the CO2 causes global warming.)
