*fast reply, only read the subject question, nothing else* It takes quite a lot to impress me for a man to cook. I do not count the average man's fallback of spaghetti as "cooking." Nor do I count breakfast foods as "cooking." I taught my ex-husband how to cook his native country's food, which cannot be simplified in any way, shape or form. It takes a long time to soften lentils, scrape coconut from the husk into bowl, etc., so it's very labor intensive. He can now make all those things like curried chicken, beef, curried lentils, biriyani, naan, and all the other stuff from scratch. Considering he grew up with cooks, etc., this is impressive. DB is also an amazing cook. He learned from several brilliant women in his family. He creates his own sauces, marinades, brines the Thanksgiving turkey, makes a steak that is so good, you want to cry just by eating it. Oh and bread! *swoons* He makes delicious breads. When my mom was alive, she used to love it when DB came over and cooked because it was always something new and delicious. So, I don't know if this is the way that other folks have answered, but it takes a hell of a lot of cooking to impress me. Spaghetti and/or poached eggs don't even get an honorable mention in my book. *typo*
