What about 2-2-22, 3-3-33, 4-4-44, 5-5-55, 6-6-66, 7-7-77, 8-8-88, and 9-9-99? I wonder what they mean?

If you take 1-1-11 as a binary number you come up with 15, which, when you beark down once more is also 6.....so perhaps there is something special about the new year.

Of course there's something special about 1/1/11...my daughter turns 18 today, and is going out to the bars for the first time!!

I saw this thread earlier. At one point I looked at the PC clock, it was 11:12 and I had been on the phone for two minutes or more.

That means I was on the phone with her at 1/1/11 11:11:11 (A.M. or military time) .

Excuse me if I'm wrong here, but isn't the whole point of a date system to make every date unique, and unrepeated for a century? (At least, when we use a two digit year notation. If we used 4 there, it would be 10,000 years before the numbers recycled)

At work yesterday, a co-worker who practices Buddhism (she's originally from Burma) said that, unlike the Aztec's, they have 1000 more years on their calendar. I'm not sure what that is worth, but I feel lot more comfortable about the 2012 thing.

It is, however Quebec is just across the river and the age there is 18. Its pretty much the traditional thing to do on your 18th in Ottawa.

Here, the age was "When Dad says". I'm about 15, drinking on the olman's tab while he is at work. The bartender asks "Is your Dad here ?" I say no. "Well you are going to have to leave then". "OK, gimme 12 to go". Problem is, once I left the bar there was noone going on a cigarette run. I had to run all the way across a two lane street to get a pack of smokes. These laws are just so damn inconvenient.
