I thought it would be fun to discuss everyone's local groups and what they do, and what people get out of it. :)

I will start!

Northern Colorado
We have a great group up in Northern Colorado. There is a dedicated couple who are great friends of ours who organize a twice monthly munch at a local Fort Collin's restaurant - one Thursday night, the other Sunday morning. We can get as many as 40 folks attending and people come from Denver (an hour + south), and Wyoming (an hour + north), plus many of the locals and folks from surrounding towns! We get a very wide variety of people, young and old, new and experienced, and while we are usually one of the only Femdom couples, we see people of nearly every persuasion in the kink world. Conversation is mostly general life discussion with overtones of kinky subjects, jests, and inferences. There is lots of good fun and people seem to have a great time!

For the holiday munch, we did a White Elephant Gift Exchange where everyone brings a gift, and you pick a number from a hat and then select your gift. When you "number comes up", you can choose a gift, or steal a gift that someone else has already claimed. After three steals, the item is safe with whomever got it last. We had nearly thirty gifts and the exchange took nearly an hour of fun and laughter. I ended up with a pair of dagged red and green Christmas "Elf" shorts with little bells at the ends of the dagged points. Which, if you know anything about me, is perfect!

For New Year's, my Lady and I were invited to a High Protocol Dinner at the home of some folks whom we have known just a few months. It was really quite the elegant affair. We had a protocol education meeting before the dinner where the concepts of high protocol were discussed and the protocols for the evening were laid out. We had eight couples, and a house slave in attendance. My Lady and I were the only Femdom couple, and there were several Gorean couples there, and several Dom/femsub couples - so a mixed group with wide interests. The submissives cooked and served and cleaned and much fun was had by all! Though...it was hard for me to not talk during the dinner!

There was a play party afterward where the high protocol was relaxed and people went back into their regular dynamic.

New Year's day saw another get together at another friend's house with about twenty other kinky folk. Just a casual get together with food and football and people came and went all day. There was no play, just socializing and fun.

The town of Longmont to the South of us also has a munch twice monthly and it too is well attended. People come up from Denver and from the Northern Colorado Area. It is held at a local bar there and again, good conversation, good people, and kinky overtones.

And so, Northern Colorado, an area that is somewhat sparsely populated has a very active and wonderful kinky community!

Well....I suppose I could be wrong about it being held twice a month...we have only been on Saturday evenings...so yea...

I actually attend two different munch groups. One of those being the Bakersfield Munch Group and the other is The Group In Fresno (TGIF). Since I know there are other forum regulars that are members of TGIF, I'll let them give the details for that group. I was actually one of their tops for their educational event last month called December Tastings. Six Tops. Six different types of play that you could try. I was the wax top.

The Bakersfield Munch Group has been in existence for eleven years. It is run by a D/D poly couple and we also have an events committee. We have our monthly munch on the third Saturday of every month which is held in a vanilla location. Starting this month, we are changing our location due to the growth of the group. We also have Wicked Wednesdays that are held the first and third Wednesday of the month. In addition, on the second Saturday of every month, we have ALOG coffee meetings. These are specifically for folks who are just getting started in wiitwd.

Our demo/event/play party evening is the third Saturday of the month, directly following the munch, which is held at another location. The slave auction that I organized in October was the group's highest attended event in it's eleven year history. We had participants from the San Luis Obispo area, Los Angeles, Fresno, Vasalia, and more come in to visit our group for that night. Our dungeon even got a make-over because we were anticipating so many people.

Speaking of our dungeon, it is privately owned. We also have a separate play party on the first Saturday of the month. Other times to use it can be arranged for members only. Vetted members can do this by making arrangements with the owner of the property.

Our holiday party was very much like the one that Otters described above. Our holiday dinner and gift exchange was almost an exact duplicate, right down to the 'three swaps and it's yours' rule. Since the wax had been such a hit in Fresno earlier that month, our gift for the event was a starter's wax kit which included candles, stencils, design cutters, and plastic to protect the furniture for during use. Yes, it did end up with two of the folks who had been to the December Tastings event, which was just perfect. After the gift fun, the play started and I was topping until 3:00 AM!

In short, BDSM is alive and well in Bakersfield. If you're in the area, feel welcome to join us at the munch on Saturday. I'll be there!

Raleigh NC: FAD, Female Artists of Domination. A genuinely awesome group run by and for femdoms, and open to all female dominants and their submissives. Very respectful of all orientations, supportive and friendly. Male switches may not behave dominantly at functions and our male dominant friends are asked to respect our space and play elsewhere, but nobody's afflicted with One True Way-ism or a superiority complex or anything. We have *awesome* play parties about once a month, and sometimes they travel to locations ranging from a luxurious beach house rented for a week on the Outer Banks for our annual retreat to places like Wingnut Stables (for slave hunts and pony play) and other private locations. Mostly based out of a lovely dedicated dungeon in Raleigh.

Best bunch of folks I ever hung with, and I've been active in much bigger cities than this. Highly recommended if you're in the area. http://www.fad-nc.org

im in northern nv and theres not much out here so i attend with my Mistress in bakersfeild whenever i can it is a fun group last visit was a slave auction that gathered many new members and lots of less frequent ones as well

Not sure why this is posted in the Mistress forum as I see this more as General.

Cincinnati, OH
Its ironic that Cincinnati is the town that made Larry Fynt famous. In 1977 the city of Cincinnati sues Larry Flynt for obsenity charges related to him mailing out material he really should not have. He was sentenced 7 to 25 years in prison. A week later an appeal court threw out the conviction.

Cincinnati has had 3 BDSM groups through the years. The latest is PEER in Cincinnati with 7 members. I really wish Cincinnati had a better scene but its just not here. There are very active clubs with in 2 hours of Cincinnati in Columbus Oh and Indianapolis IN. Unfortunately Cincinnati is just not the hopping BDSM center some of us hope for.

Philly ^_^

I attend Philly TNG events The munch is the first friday of every month and the third thursday for the Happy hour with demos game nights and the trips in-between. Its an awesome group run by an amazing F/f couple and a M switch. It averages about 20 to 50 people each event.

I also attend the Gate munch thats held the Third saturday of the month usually Its a smaller group usually 10 to 25 people. Its a newer munch to me, It meets only once a month and is usually a good time. Most people tend to be a bit more groupie.

Then theres the Young Phucks which is also an 18-35 group, this group tends to hold a happy hour every other week as well as game night events and some trips, Its centered around doing things in the city.

And There are several Play parties a month.

First theres Black phoenix held every other weekend. Its a great social gathering/play party. The runner has made it easier for those who are college age to afford to get in by giving us an awesome discount.

Theres Kulture-shock held the first Friday of every month, Its at a club that plays Goth and metal music as well as allows for scenes.
