I'm VERY appreciative of this event. It goes to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that those who claim that ALL muslims are ebullllllll and killerrs are totally full of it.

there are evil terrible people on from all the branches of Abraham's family.

Likewise, there are some awesome ones as well.

Agree completely. Appreciated!! [:D]

Yesterday, I was eating lunch in a restaurant and a muslim lady came in with her 4 children. When she was seated, the couple next to her asked to be moved. Anyone wanna bet they just came out of CHURCH?

I hope that couple reads this story.

Was it possible that they moved because of you? Maybe you had a bad case of BO or something.

Lovely post Sandra, thank you

Cross-religious co-operation in the Holy Lands and lands surrounding it happens far more frequently that many of us might think. I read a lovely book by William Dalrymple, the distinguished UK writer that describes his experience of some of it.

Dalrymple, a devout Catholic with an interest in Sufism, a mystical variety of Islam tells the story of a kind of pilgrimage he made checking out various places where this age old tradition is still alive.

I found his book a pleasure to read (and I am not the slightest bit religious).

Here's a link to the book at Amazon if you're interested:

Arpig -> RE: Something to restore basic faith in humanity (1/29/2011 6:58:24 PM)

Learn to read

pahunkboy -> RE: Something to restore basic faith in humanity (1/29/2011 7:06:26 PM)

I'm so tempted! lol

No I am not tempted at all. I still love you hunky.

BTW Egypt is one of the countries that surround the Holy Land. Look it up on a map if you are still unconvinced.

Or, to save the trouble: modern Israel and modern Egypt share a border. Before Egypt made peace with Israel, the two nation-states fought over the Sinai peninsula. The Gaza Strip is on the border between Egypt and Israel.

As for "Holy Land"... well, that depends on your religion. The Abrahamic religions call Israel the "Holy Land", but other religions consider different places to be their Holy Lands.

Point taken.

Lands- boarders -  in that region tend to be disputed.    I heard that Israel  claims part of Iraq-  or wants to.     I am not an expert on the region.. so I am learning - this -   as I go.

Arpig -> RE: Something to restore basic faith in humanity (1/31/2011 12:06:15 AM)

You are just learning?? Fuck dude, this is shit I learned in 5th grade and hasn't changed since then, how the fuck did you graduate from high school without knowing the very most basic facts...either you got passed to avoid a bad rep for the school or the US has the most pathetic school system imaginable.  Personally I will go for the third option..you are an utterly uneducated moron.

tazzygirl -> RE: Something to restore basic faith in humanity (1/31/2011 12:11:19 AM)

Just wait, its only going to get worse. Dont forget the "No Child Left Behind". [8|]

I think Hill just saw Marc2b's post to him, since the thread was revived a few days ago. Hill also said the point of the thread and link was good (post #20).

It took you over two weeks to come up with that retort?

It only took me about seven seconds to come up with: lighten the fuck up.

No, it took me that long to notice your existence.
