a silicone product wont take any paint. theres too much flex...only way to pull that off is plastizine inks, which are expensive and pretty nasty to work with.

I'd never paint with regular ol' paints, but there are dildos out there with unique designs painted on them with SOMETHING. It is my current ambition in life to figure out what it is and then use it for my own devices. I, too, wish to have unique toys to play with that do not require the addition of a (ick) condom. Do you have any advice in that area?

So the colors that you see are actually the color(s) of the material being used and not added afterwards.

HHMMMMM. Makes things tricky, doesn't it? I have read on some creations that they had them 'hand painted' for use. If you can't tell, I'm going to grind this into the ground until I'm 100% certain it has to be done one way or another, LOL! That's just how my tootsie rolls ;P I'd have to get crafty to do that. I'm not even sure how it is done, adding colors to a mold that you pour things into. I know it CAN be done, so that may be my next step. I swear I'm going to end up with a cockeyed dildo, but it will be like my first scarf that I am still so proud of despite its obvious deformity. Thanks for that tidbit! It's at least another starting point to look into :)

Those clone your own cock kits are really expensive. Look at what materiel's they contain and then just buy those materials separately.
A few years ago we decided to make a mold of the inside of my vagina. We did this with the help of a condom and some prosthetic (rubber based) alginate. What I got was a very nice dildo because the vagina looks very much like a cock turned inside out!
Using a replica of your vagina to fuck a guy up the ass is great fun

Not sure about how you would paint it though.

Another option is a plain glass dildo. You could paint that with glass paint.

LMFAO. I love it! I think I'll end up buying things separately and continuing my search. I was hoping for some sort of 'silicone paint' for details and such, something I could add on after, I just wasn't sure what would be safe to use. At least in the meantime I can have some silly shapes!

I've seen cloisonne ben wah balls, so enamel must be safe for insertion...
What if you get enamel powder and enamel a steel dildo and then take it to be fired in a kiln? I had a neighbor once who used to make enamel jewelry and I made something at her house once- it was pretty easy.

I think if you can't get to a kiln (I was thinking maybe one of those paint your own pottery places?) you can also use a blow torch to fire it.

Perhaps you can find an enameling course at a local college and then learn how to do it... I can just see you handing in your final project

The only thing I can come up with is 2 pack yacht enamel. You can paint pretty much anything with it (except silicone). The two parts are a the paint and the catalyst. When they are mixed it starts a chemical process that changes it from a liquid to a solid. Its an epoxy and so very safe when properly cured.

This is going to be true of any paint on any flexible object. End of story. The only way I can think of to do anything like this is either multi-part casting (and I'm not sure how well that would hold up to use) or a multi part wax-resist dye setup. I have no clue if there is a food-grade dye that will take on silicone available in retail quanties though.
