I read the exchange very differently. While Irish was quick in the castigation sense, I suspect her reaction is based on: 1) the immediate dissection of the motivational forces behind the OP's post, and 2) having a more dedicated, obedience/servitude view of M/s. Because the OP's choice of "what does a girl have to do to get a spanking these days?" shows that not getting her fix of a specific act is apparently the main thing on her mind. It's a very different feel than if she had offered up something like "Does Master just not want me anymore??" instead, which would have displayed a fear of failing in her role (as opposed to just failing to get the reward she wanted). Obviously, the specifics of this entire issue are lost in the details and even if they were both here to tell the story from the beginning, it's likely we'd still not have a solid list of what each of their expectations were and should be. And while anyone is surely free to adopt any dynamic role they want and still prioritize their wants/needs in whatever way they choose (even if the priority list is completely contradictory to the very point of adopting the chosen role), IrishMist's response was not nearly as misguided or misapplied as it is made to seem.
