sansa -> Nipple Piercing Pain (1/15/2011 12:17:19 AM)

i had my nipples pierced several years ago, removed the rings after a year, then two years ago, they were re-pierced.

The right rarely has any problems, but the left is frequently sore, occasionally to the point a shirt is uncomfortable over it, but at the same time exposing it hurts as well.

Master and i are going to try new rings to see if that helps eliminate the problem, but in the meantime, does anyone know if it is ok to use Neosporin with pain relief on the piercing, partly to help with the pain itself and partly for the antibiotics in the ointment for prevention of more serious problems than just soreness.

Thanks for the responses in advance.

Hi sansa, Your piercing could hurt for a number of reasons but if it has been 2 years since you had it done then the most likely reason is disturbance by your bra or the way you sleep. All piercings go through a parking period which is a small migration to a comfortable place. Disturbance of this parking place can cause soreness.
Is the piercing weepy or show any signs of infection?
What size gauge is the jewelry?
Have you checked the jewelry to make sure its not flawed?

The problem with Neosporin is its made up with petroleum jelly and petroleum jelly doesn't allow the skin to breath. It can lock infection in and so I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
If its infected then use salt washes. If its not infected then check the jewelry and consider that it may be migrating.

I had pierced nipples for years but my right nipple was never 100% comfortable. I'm pretty certain that its because I slept mainly on my right side and disturbed it too much.
