lilredsubmarine -> It's so pretty, but i do wish it would go away already (1/15/2011 3:46:10 AM)

Okey dokey, so i had a rather fun playtime with a Dom friend of mine a couple of weeks ago, and He marked my breasts pretty darn good. So good, in fact, that it's been two weeks and my right breast is STILL a lovely shade of mottled purple and green with spots of blue. i am planning on playing with another (different) Dom play partner next week and i would love to be a blank canvas for Him (before anyone jumps to any conclusions, i am not collared to any one Dom and each play partner knows that i play with Others).

My question is, is there any way i can help speed up the body's absorption of this (albeit beautiful) bruise? i usually bruise like a peach anyway, but this is verging on ridiculous. i understand that the bruise is amongst fat tissue that doesn't require as much blood circulation as muscle, so naturally it will take longer to be absorbed by the body, but is there any way i can further encourage the blood flow there? Has anyone tried DeepHeat or massage with any success? As it is, the bruise doesn't hurt at all and isn't interfering with my boob's general boobiness-- it's just the colour hanging around for longer than is convenient.

i once had a Super-Bruise on my arse from when i fell down some stairs (no really, i did) which took almost six months to completely disappear, and even then i still had a small knot in my right cheek for a few months after. i really hope that this isn't the case a second time round.... [&:]

ETA: Actually, whilst on the topic, are there any particular safety concerns that i should be aware of with regards to breast torture, especially as my pain threshold increases? i haven't been too worried thus far because i can't handle anything too extreme yet anyway, but the degree of this bruising is making me think that perhaps i am starting to turn into more of a masochist than i first thought....

i welcome any and all advice! Thanks! [:)]

Just wait and see. As you describe it, it will take at least another week.

Arnica gel or cream, which is definitely available at Whole Foods but I'm not sure where else. Ya, the Doms that I know do prefer a blank canvas :)

Arnica montana is a plant in the Compositae or Daisy family. It grows in high mountain meadows where it takes in massive amounts of sunlight and radiates a strong fragrance and bright yellow color. Mountain climbers were the first to discover its use in healing when they observed the way it helped repair injuries that resulted from accidental falls. Over the next few centuries, others confirmed Arnica’s ability to heal bruises, sprains, and muscle aches. And today, physicians from over 80 countries around the globe acknowledge its effectiveness in reducing pain and swelling.

Arnica has numerous common names. Many reflect the plant’s ability to heal. “Wound herb”, “fall herb”, and “well-bestow” are some of the most common nicknames. In the mountains of Germany, it is best known as “Stoh up ungoh hen” or stand up and go home.

Arnica will only work when used very soon after the injury. I know pro subs who use it but I wouldn't recommend anyone uses it on a regular basis. It is absolutely no good once the bruising comes out but it may be useful for lilred to keep some of this for future sessions.
Don't ever use Arnica if you are taking blood pressure tablets or have broken skin and be aware that this is a very powerful herbal cream, powerful enough in fact to induce abortion, cause heart problems, vertigo and kidney dysfunction.

To the op, your bruises have to turn brown yet before they disperse fully. You could try hot and cold compresses but I would of thought that at this stage they will have little effect.

You may want to check to see whether you have circulation problems.  Among other things, have a blood test done for diabetes.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

That Arnica stuff does sound familiar kalik-- i'm definitely gonna pop on down to Terry White tomorrow to see if i can get some to have on hand for next time. Thanks also for the heads-up on it's possible negative side-effects, jaz; i'll have a chat to the pharmacist about it while i'm there.

You raise a good point, Steven. i do tend to have lousy circulation anyway (freezing toes and fingers even though i'm sweating, etc etc) and i have been vaguely diagnosed with hypoglycemia (the opposite to diabetes) but that was aaaages ago, so perhaps i ought to get it checked out again. Dagnabbit.

You know how when newborn babies get jaundiced and they put them "under the lights"? The UV light breaks down the bilirubin that's under the skin, and that's what the remains of bruises contain a lot of, bilirubin. Sunshine will do the same thing, just do some topless sunbathing :) The exposure to the sunlight should help the bruises fade. Just don't let yourself get sunburnt.

Freezing toes and fingers may be something specific called Raynaud's syndrome.

Just curious how that bruising of yours is going? How many weeks did it take to go away?

I just had my ass nicely caned and belted but OMG now is blue black and purple with some green shade. Can't wear bathing suits as area of the ass that show naked is full of colors. In a few weeks have to go for waxing (brazillian) and wondering what type of reason I'm going to tell girl who will do my waxing as have bad feeling those bruises will last long time.

FYI...you may want to just PM the original poster. The mods generally frown on resurrecting a thread more than 6 months old.
