Given what I wrote the answer to your question should be obvious. Love shows up as either dangerous or an inefficiency that is best done away with. Its character is misrepresented. In short, if you believe in love, you are in for a cold winter.

Someone mentioned that BenM sounds like he's talking to himself. Well I'd say that's pretty much whats going on here. Ive read up to through page 6 on this thread. And its become pretty plain why BenM has to write about love. Some people can only write about love while others are able to experience it. That seems to be the sad state of affairs for our author/poster. Your blatant sexual musings just make us see that you're not in even on your own musings.  Your sexual frustrations are pretty plain for all of us to imagine.

So Dear BenM, while I've gotten some serious chuckles from our fellow posters over your running commentary, I do as a woman, find you a turn-off the more that you say. And yet I found myself feeling a twinge of sadness knowing that you are alone. On the other hand, that's probably just how it might be for you, since I think your personality comes through your writing very well.  As a woman who's in your age range and in the dating pool, we'd never even get to a face-to-face. Perhaps more than waxing eloquent on CM, you should seek out a dating/personality coach. Less is more when it comes to words. You've gone way over your limit.

I wont speak for others but for me, your personality is too. Too lacking in humor, too stern. To holier than tho. Too wordy. Too bad. I wish you luck in this world. Most humans look for commonalities in each other. And I really feel like you're looking for things very few of us have, like or are interested in. Your mix of ideals is way too confusing and ever changing.

So why not come on down here for a change, and spend some time with us earthlings/commoners and just plain folk. Once you get to know us, you might just be surprised.

Though what you wrote here sophia37 is not all that agreeable there is some conventional wisdom and perhaps genuine feeling which is refreshing. I do not agree with what you wrote, however. Given that I have reason to believe there is not much in the way of hope as finding love is concerned I cannot afford to make finding love my only concern. In fact, there are those who have gone out of their way to impress upon me that the Internet is a dead end. This is partially true, but those who wanted to impress this thought upon me also clearly have an agenda.

What you are talking about are optimization strategies. Less can be more. I agree, but that is an optimization strategy for a particular selfish goal. I am pursuing several lines of thought at once.

In the Philosophy of Love several types of love are distinguished. I am addressing all of them in one way or the other. Platonic love is one such category. There is lust, eternal love, etc. One goal that is in my reach is to encourage others to think about love. This goal is achievable.

In another post someone called him Bene, which made me think BeneFiber - and now with the BM...I kept having odd episodes of gigglefits since...I'm in danger of being locked up, I fear.
