I agree! and I've also been writing, signing petitions etc to try and roll this back. Unfortnately right now the country is caught up in a resurgence of religion and its having a negative effect as far a women are concerned.
Let's face it in most male dominated religions we ARE second class citizens whom they wish to control anyway they can. They try to brainwash us into believing we are ALL submissive by nature or that God wants us to be that way so we can get into *heaven*. Its bullcrap, utter and total bullcrap.
I keep saying if the young women of today don't stand up for their rights they are going to loose every single one and be pushed back into the 1950's era. You can't win a war sitting on your laurels, you gotta stand up and fight for the freedoms/rights that you believe in.
Abortion is about to go out the window as an alternative and the *family way* is being shoved down our throats. I saw a book the other day, I think it was called "What women really want." It was all about home, family and children and how women are supposedly happier doing the family thing versus a career. Well I hate to tell the author but thats NOT what all women want.
Sorry Ive gone on a rant, this subject really bugs the shit out of me and I feel very passionate about it. I am a woman NOT a second class citizen, not a slave and not some man's whipping dog.
