Münchausen syndrome.

Nothing more to add.

I am guessing this was directed at the OP?

In another thread she made an entry 10 days after her first posting here.
She saw a doctor who diagnosed a sinus infection.
She took the medication, and followed the recommended advice and got better.

Your jumping in and providing a spot psychiatric diagnosis is not helpful.
There are always very clear lines on this forum that people should seek the advice of their healthcare professionals.
The OP did.

Thanks for the info Hausboy [:)]

As I rarely, if ever, go swimming then it's not something I've experienced. Ironically, I once got an outer ear infection due to a bad reaction to something in an OTC earwax softener!

My doc told me that the smallest thing I should put in my ear is my elbow...lol

4.Use one drop/spray of olive oil inserted into each ear once a week if you have dry, itchy ears.
This is to lubricate both the skin of the ear canal and the earwax, encouraging natural movement of the wax out of the ear. Olive oil is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and contains vitamin E which helps to heal skin. One of Deafness Research UK's advisors has found that this is of benefit for people with dry skin, also helping earwax to become softer.
5.If you are using olive oil, an olive oil spray may be easier to use and be more effective.
Using a dropper can mean too much oil is used, this can block up the ear affecting hearing. In the same way it is only recommended to use olive oil or other wax softening drops for a few nights prior to removal.

I sometimes have this problem. I use either eardrops or olive oil to soften the wax, then use an ear syringe with freshly boiled and cooled to lukewarm water to flush out the wax. I've had it happen a couple times that I got seriously dizzy after removing impacted wax. The body adapts when the buildup is occuring, but when the wax is abruptly removed, it really messes with your equlibrium, to the point where I couldn't walk without running into things. This passes in 10-15 minutes, though.

For a temporary fix, turn your blowdryer on medium and let the warm air blow on the ear a bit.
(worked as a great middle of the night solution)
I've also used a heating pad wrapped in a towel, on low to medium. The heat is soothing, helps soften the wax, and gravity hepls with drainage.

AYlee? No connection to swimmers ear. Connection to the same person posting medical issues, mostly minor, on here, over and over again. And again. And again.

Okay... you do realize that you are asking a bunch of masochists and sadists medical advice right? I would tell you to put icy-hot in there for shits and giggles.

Jus say'n

It will work, so will a few drops of boiled urine, let it cool down a bit first though.

How bout I just blow in your ear in the middle of the night. Might not cure the earache but you'll forget about it.
