I look at dull knives the same way I look at a dull razor blades, I am NOT gonna have it against any of my sensative areas [or any other place] because too much of a chance of getting hurt, or worse. I have never had a kitchen knife used, always dagers, swords or other high quality knives that are well taken care of and sharp.

Knife play is not about 'cutting' its about trust as much as about sensation play.

{is it getting hot in here, or is it just me... }

If you aren't cutting through a material and are using the knife for sensation play, the human body has a hard time telling the difference between sharp and dull.  I've done some very intense scenes with just a bit if liquid detergent on the edge of a credit card.  The subjects were certain they were bleeding.

John,

What?  You FAKED it?  The next thing you are going to try and make us believe is someone might show a bound victim how sharp their knife is and then, GASP switch it for a dull one?

Oh, my world is crashing in around me...

Kidless -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 10:02:12 AM)

It's fun to watch the reaction when you carve something up in front of a bottom with a real  knife..then suddenly stick a rubber one up her pussy.........

John got it right.......... (evil laugh,fading into the distance........)

CrappyDom -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 10:05:49 AM)

Kind of like showing them a branding iron red hot from the fire and "branding" using one sitting in bucked of salt water and ice!

Kidless -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 10:07:24 AM)

yaaaa...........but you should never forget the towel underneath them if you do that- saves big time on clean up.[:D]

slaverosebeauty -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 10:13:27 AM)

Evil evil tops, not nice playing tricks on bottoms like that. {rofl}

Glad its not me. I will stick to very sharp knives and less trickery, tyvm.

Kidless -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 10:16:23 AM)

Who,me?

But I'm like a cute lil kitty-it stops being fun when the mousie plays dead![:D]

Rose,

A knife is a tool and a craftsman chooses the right one for the job and puts the appropriate edge on it for what he seeks to do.

As someone who teaches sharpening to the craftsman who use the sharpest tools, woodworkers, I have a modicum of knowledge about edges and what makes them work and when and why you put various levels of edges onto a blade.  I can wax eloquently about the differences between Arkansas Novaculite stones, Japanese and Chinese water stones, diamond stones, aluminium oxide, and ceramic stones and when to use each and why, I just might have enough knowledge to not be speaking out of my ass.

If "dull" is so dangerous, why do we not put an edge on handcuffs, speader bars, and everything else we use?  Dull has many meanings, when I say a blade is sharp, the edge is less than a micron across and capable of pulling a shaving of less than a thousandths of an inch off of the hardest hardwood.

You are welcome to play however you want just don't spread things as gospel that are anything but.  There are many reasons one might use a "dull" blade, just because you cannot fathom it doesn't mean others cannot as well.

Thank you Crappydom,I was going to say that...instead I'll say this:
Using a dull knife is not fo everyone,neither is using a sharp one.
While I dont agree with all things people do(scat for instance)...who am I to say if its right or wrong.

Whatever works for you is the important thing,not whether it works for everyone.

Dustyn -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 9:02:26 PM)

I can think of one good reason for a dull edge compared to a honed one... stranger rape scene... holding a knife to one's throat, while being a super charged dose of adrenaline, can also lead to a nasty cut in a BAD spot with just one muscle jerk... and not even a big one... one spasm is about all it would take with a good enough edge...

I'll chance ruining the scene just an iota rather than chance a cut over a major artery...

LaMalinche -> RE: Knives!? (5/5/2006 9:35:46 PM)

Another good reason for a dull knife. . . being raped with the knife.

Good clean fun there. . .

Best,

LaMalinche

[eating ice cream with a toothache] "Chomp, chomp, chomp, AAAUGH! The PAIN! The Horrible PAIN! Mmmm.... Creamy! Chomp, Chomp, Chomp, AAAUGH! The PAIN! The stabbing knives of pain! Ooh! It's got nuts in it!"

Noclevername -> RE: Knives!? (5/6/2006 4:14:06 PM)

Knives? Completely fucking loathsome. An utter, utter, hard limit. Except for sometimes. Sometimes they're cool. But mostly loathsome. An utter, utter, hard limit, except when it isn't. Like when my Domme has me tied up. Then they're OK. But otherwise, forget it. An utter, utter, hard limit.

Nosathro -> RE: Knives!? (5/6/2006 4:30:51 PM)

Tal and greetings

Knife or Edge Play I find can be very exciting.  I do have two different type of knives.  One is blunt by design and will not hold an edge.  The other is a very shape knife with a good edge.  I do talk about this type of play before a doing so and allow the slave to see and touch the knives.  Properly done it can bring a slave to a her subspace with mutual pleasure.

I wish you well

Nosathro
