What do you think, wheel all of them into the O.R. for a $100 k operation compliments of the U.S. Taxpayers? How long can we afford that?
And no I'm not a "Christian nutbag" or a Tea Bagger. Far from it.
I have *almost* as much animus for the right-wingers as I do for the left-wingers. You wearn't in here three or four years ago but I had plenty to say about Bush the low i.q. "legacy admission" to "YALE."
Just because someone goes to "HARVARD" or "YALE" or a lot of other schools doesn't mean they're smart as we saw with Bush and Kerry does it?
And I wouldn't call myself a "christian" either. I believe in "GOD" not religions.
It's up to foreign countries to take care of their own citizens not the U.S. Taxpayers.

Status: offline 		That's BS.    Speed limits are for the purpose of insuring safety, not hassling anybody.  If you were ticketed for 68 in a 65 zone, it's because the police were bored and looking for money.   If you were driving unsafely, you should have been ticketed for that.   California would never run out of money if they put radar cameras on the interstates and sent out tickets to everybody that was 3 mph over - and then they could ticket the ones going the speed limit for unsafe under the conditions, specifically going 65 in an 80 mph traffic flow.

Laws are for specific purposes, and that doesn't include making work for supporting cops or hassling you.

Status: offline 		Jack   I only got a warning ticket   lol   And yeah   the cop was probably bored.   But that isn't the point.   The law was enforced and the cop exercising his legal discretion only warned me to be more careful.   What I didn't tell you is that I was going down hill and hadn't put my foot on the gas in about 8 miles (is a 12 mile steady downhill 6% grade - would make one hell of a skateboard run).   I was to busy watching that big truck next to me that I was passing to watch my speed.

But, here's a little tale.  How are you going to tell if the guy's illegal?

Patient's brought in on a stretcher, and was wounded severely by a wood chipper.  He's kind of short, brown skin, wearing work pants (like navy chinos) and a khaki work shirt.

Illegal or not?

I saw a guy just like that at a gas station, with a work crew.  He bought a case of soda (this was early in the morning), gets up to the counter, and spoke perfect English.  Does the doc have to wake him up and check for an accent?  Does an accent make them illegal?  Does the doc take his co-workers' or manager's word that the guy's a citizen?  Demand the 2 forms of ID specified by an I-9?

(INS tends to nab anyone with poor English and investigate later.)

Not what I am saying. But, why stop with simple illegals. If a tourist has a heart attack then why should our hospitals have to take them right?

I like the gstring shots better, and I have to agree, it is off topic.

The question now is, does a discussion of the gstring or tit shots belong in Politics and Religion, or some other section.

Some consider a woman's butt or tits a religious symbol of the power of god.

Ummm... the barn door has long since closed on that one. It's called 'duty to report'. Don't believe me? Show up at an ER with a gunshot wound and see how fast you are talking to a nice police officer about how it happened, like it or not. Show up looking like a victim of domestic violence (esp if you are an ER frequent flyer), and you are likely to be talking with the same nice officer unless you have a really good story. Show up with a minor who shows signs of possible abuse or neglect, and see how fast you are explaining things to the nice people from CPS.  These are just some examples of things physicians are already required to report to the proper authorities. Do you think such incidents should not be reported because it means that health care professionals are doing the police's job?

That said, the actual reporting in this instance would not likely be done by doctors or nurses, but by administrative personnel (you know, that nice clerk holding the 5 pages of forms on a clipboard and asking for your medical insurance while you are bleeding through your bandage and/ or puking?)
