ORIGINAL: tazzygirl Problem is... and this is a generalization, which most people dont like, but tough... is that many people with allergies tend to view most new symptoms they get as being an "allergy". And that may be the case here. Or, as you pointed out, it could be a new allergy, which needs to be diagnosed...... a worsening of an old allergy, which needs to be more closely monitored (anaphylaxis can build slowly or hit incredibly quickly)... or a disease process in the making, and early detection is paramount. All we can do is guess. A Dr's visit is needed. 100% agree. I learned the hard way. I'm a nurse for crissake and I splained my symptoms away until I was quite ill. Now, I don't care if I look like an ass, I go to the MD with any symptom that doesn't go away in a day or two. I generally have always been pretty good about going to the MD, but when I got the puffy eyes... meh, so what ? puffy eyes? Seemed pretty benign. When you have an underlying condition, you tend to justify new symptoms as associated to the condition. I have chronic bursitis of my left shoulder. I get steroid injections for flare ups. Just a few weeks ago, I had a horrific flare up. So I called my ortho and made an appointment to get my injection. Because my range of motion had changed, just slightly, he did an X ray and lo and behold... I have degeneration and a deformity of the head of my humerous from an old fracture. < not present on X ray a year ago > New problem, new treatment. No bursitis. Still may need injections, but I have to do PT first, then re eval, injections if indicated. If no relief from those two treatments I will need a partial shoulder replacement in the future. mbmbn
