IMO, as long as those needs are expressed up front, why not? Master and I are monogomous now, though we haven't always been, and we might not always be. It's not a hard limit for me by any means. But even as a slave, yes, I have limits. They are very few, but I have them because to violate them would be to violate me mentally and/or emotionally, and that's not very good care of property, is it?
