You should know the answers to this already if you are combatting this disorder.

But,just in case you do not...

Thank you for the helpful link.  I wouldn't call this bulimia or a disorder.  It is a bad habit like smoking or skipping the gym.  The information in the dental section was great.

tazzygirl -> RE: Left field question. (3/8/2011 10:20:05 PM)

regardless of how you view it, its still labeled the same by the medical community. And its extremely risky. I do hope you took notice of the other complications besides just to the teeth. Oral issues may be minor in comparison.

IronBear -> RE: Left field question. (3/8/2011 10:40:39 PM)

For the ignorant.. techno colour yawn is Aussie slang for Vomit, Chuck up.... CHUNDA.. dentist every 6 months? Not impressed .. How often do you attend a medico for a complete medical? Have you had the courage and intelligence to explain your king to a doctor so he/she can keep an eye on you? .. You missed my point, my final point, still responding to tassiegirls last post last page you are still refusing to listen but are determined that know best. You pointedly refuse to accept what you door suffer from is bulimia which as TG said clearly stated: your dental issues may be the least of your medical problems.... sheesh, talk about a child playing with matches in a powder bunker....

I am th
rough with such rude and ignorant juveniles like you and rick..I deal with enough real live people who are in life threatening difficulties and who do listen and do not argue when they are being given good advise.

subrific -> RE: Left field question. (3/8/2011 11:27:10 PM)

So the first thing that jumps out at me: who in the world is Rick??  I'm new to the CM world.

I am not arguing with anyone, just answering your odd comments.  Your qualified advice was removing my real teeth and using dentures.  Your translation does help make sense of your post.  However, my point was: you mocked me.  You are allowed to mock me and post weird rants on my thread.  I am allowed to not take anything you say seriously until I read something other than mocking and misplaced frustration.  It would be too depressing to think that someone has lived as long as you and doesn't have ANYTHING of worth to say.  (I had to rag on your age, since you ragged on mine.)  I just haven't read it yet. ;)

I have thanked the posters who provide relevant information/comments.  I would love to hear more information still from CM users.

Thanks.

Just got off the phone with my dad, who *is* a dentist and he confirmed it; there's no way to protect your teeth from acid errosion due to vomiting. He said the sealant, brushing and mouthwash are the only things you can do and they will not work forever. How long it takes for the acid to damage your teeth will depend on how often you vomit and how long you continue, but it will happen.

Thank you for this.  Vanity is a big motivator--sad but true, for me at least.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Left field question. (3/9/2011 12:42:18 AM)

To the OP:
If you struggle with binge/purge and you want to give yourself positive reinforcement for a disorder, that's your choice. However, you are playing with fire. And I have to wonder how much of what you are saying is lying to yourself in order to feed the sickness. What does your therapist / OA sponsor / doctor say about this conundrum?

The example made earlier of having an alcoholic drink during sexual / play relations is actually an excellent one. If we were talking about a person who struggled with drinking, the connection would be made immediately. And I'd bet that folks would realize how much the OP is talking about playing with fire.

Just a thought.

Good luck,
sunshine

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Left field question. (3/9/2011 9:49:42 AM)

you actually have a REALLY great point, sunshinemiss. suddenly now it's not a reflection of the bulimia, it's "oh i'm doing it to please my Dude." slippery slope and all that.

Please define relevant information as in they way you used it.....

I may be wrong, but it sounds like you are referring only to information which supports what you are doing whilst discarding the growing volume of information warning you of the dangers you are stepping into..

It's simple really, you want to risk you health possibly permanently or you life, be my guest and go ahead. no one here can stop you. just a pity to see another young life going down the gurgler for no reason other that to please some male....

You may not like me (a number here don't). You may never want to see or read from me again.. (There are good blocking facilities here), no probs you'll join a select group who don't want to see my posts.. It is quite immaterial. it just seriously saddens me when I see someone and especially a young lass heading on the way to self (avoidable) destruction...... Aye I feel the same way when I watch people get addicted to drugs or hit rock botton with clinical depression and I can not do a bloody thing to help.. I get over it after I punch and kick the shit out of a few boards or a stack of bricks..

Buzzzz -> RE: Left field question. (3/9/2011 3:56:37 PM)

I enjoy causing pain with my cock. and making one throw up during a blow job is very much a turn on. I don't get to do it enough though :( But I wouldn't think it would be that bad for the giver.I doesn't stay up there that long. a drink of water should just flush everything right back down ;)

littlewonder -> RE: Left field question. (3/9/2011 4:07:17 PM)

it sounds like you're in denial of your disorder writing it off as a "bad habit". Hate to break it to ya but it's more than that and it sounds as if your boyfriend is reinforcing your urge to purge.

Imo....tell your boyfriend to leave it to fantasyland and you should seek a counselor before it becomes worse and then too late.

Yeah my older sister used to think like you...it's just a bad habit..used to hear her say that all the time..until she landed in the hospital at a whopping 76 lbs.

Tantriqu -> RE: Left field question. (3/9/2011 4:12:01 PM)

A dominant would never ask a sub to do something risky until they know the risks and advise their sub.
You now know the risks from a dentist [as above], so now you know a drink of water can't 'just flush everything down' and that it is bad for the giver. You've read it, you can't unread it.

Do you rinse your mouth and gargle with jets of battery acid, or anything else with a pH of 2 like stomach contents ejected forcibly against your teeth? Didn't think so.
So don't 'forget' to tell him or her about the risks, long before the scene.

hausboy -> RE: Left field question. (3/9/2011 8:09:09 PM)

Hi subrific-

your post actually probably should have been moved into the Health & Safety thread, but some of the advice you've been given should be worth a look.
There are some risks to your health from frequent vomiting, regardless of the purpose of the vomiting.  So essentially, while you may be throwing up within a scene context as opposed to binge/purge behavior, the physical health risks are the same.

Your teeth enamel and gum disease are actually two of the least destructive effects of frequent vomiting.  Damage to the throat/esophagus, electrolyte imbalances, fainting, weight loss/serious weight fluctuations, cardiac arrhythmia....all side effects from repeated vomiting over time.  Those are physical--there are also the emotional/psychological components to this as well, and it can be a very difficult cycle to break.

That said, you have a separate issue--you and your boyfriend enjoy vomiting in a different context.  The analogy to alcoholism is a pretty accurate one, in my opinion.  If you had not mentioned that you have binge/purge issues, I would say "puke away" (within moderation) but given that you have struggled with this behavior, I'd caution you as others have.

I'm not a mental health provider, but if you are engaging in binge/purge activities, I really do hope that you will consider seeking help and support from a professional.  Bulimia kills.

I do wish you the best--

MistressRage -> RE: Left field question. (3/10/2011 6:42:48 PM)

I don't know about your teeth but something else to consider—the acid will eat away at your esophagus if done too frequently.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Left field question. (3/10/2011 6:44:40 PM)

And you'll shoot your eye out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perimolysis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulimia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vomiting
according to all these documents, it MAY lead to destruction on the enamel. the key word is may.according to the perimolysys article, all acidic juices and coke and those fruit drinks can cause it too.

All these articles are related to people who have a condition (disease) and this vomitting happens on a regular basis. and they say that it may destruct the enamel.
I don't don't believe that you throw up while dt your boyfriend's cock on a "regular basis" such as them. Soooo. I wouldn't worry about it as much as most people on this board say.Just do not brush afterwards and drink water

I mean, if you dt 3-4 times a day and throw up, then maybe I would start thinking about it.Just my $.02.
