Ya know, I was manacled... um... married for a very long time and the big thing I focused on was keeping the same fervor in the relationship that I had when it was brand new. It does not take a lot a work, but it takes team work, everyone involved have to want it. It took me about 15 years of dissatisfaction to finally give up the fervor ghost and another 5 for the ums to be old enough for me to feel comfortable with traveling. After I realized there was no fixing it the fervor was gone and it was just getting through until I was confident that the ums were big enough to be w/o me in the winters.

I have dated a lot, and the sure ticket to bootsville is when the girl has an expectation for the relationship to cool. In fact, this time last year I kicked a girl to the curb for stating an anticipation of the relationship cool down while we were eating dinner.

I asked: You really want a relationship where everything is just comfortable?
She said: Well, when all this cools down...
I said: Stop. Finish your dinner. She nodded and finished dinner.Now, pack up and get the hell out.
She said: What?
I said: I am not looking for perfect, but I will not settle for less than exceptional.

Kissing, for me, is the catalyst for that fervor, that incredible alive ON TOP THE FUKIN WORLD relationship that I need. It is not a want for me, on the wants I am reasonably flexible, but my needs are inflexible and my need of partners that want to keep the fire and fervor alive in an exceptional relationship is a must.

Kissing for me is one of the most intimate things I can do. The only time I'll kiss a woman is I'm very serious about her and want to take it emotionally to the next level.

I'm not a very oral person--so for me to get to that level of comfort with a woman is a big deal. I might be fisting her up to my elbow--but if the emotional piece isn't there, I won't kiss her.

Yep, this is me too.....I had a play partner that was absolutely the greatest sadist I've met so far, he could beat me to tears, but if he ever tried to kiss me, I'd have to call a stop on it.....the emotional connection wasn't that kind between us.

I'm with you FT, I love kissing. As to if I'm good at it...I don't know I've never kissed myself. Some of those I've kissed have said I'm good, some have said not so good. One even said the best ever, but that was a long time ago, and she didn't have a lot of experience to judge by, so I'd hazard that I am OK at it.

And I'm with Syl as well...the lips should be a destination, and sometimes the longer it takes for the kisses to get there the better.

And I also agree with CalifChick about the different types of kisses and how you can just get lost in them. Your whole world just narrows to that one point of contact between your lips and her flesh. I love the taste of salty skin on my lips.

I'm clearly very agreeable tonight.
