Panda, You need to read up more to "appeal to authority" as a logical construct, my friend. You appear, however, to be correct in that your goal here seems to be "to argue" in the sense of "controversy: a contentious speech act" or quarrel, but not in the sense of "a discussion in which reasons are advanced for and against some proposition or proposal" or more colloquially a conversation. Whatever demons in your soul are satisfied by reveling in anger, disgust and vilification is your burden, and one that I'm happy to not share. Firm
