The portions that the DOJ rescinded are not tied to the injunction. That issue as it pertained to so called third party producers, is gone.

Can you provide a reference to these changes?

Very simple, they pay, we don't--although I'd like a way to see men versus boobed and worse in the women--but alas, the times they are what they are.

devotedsub4Dom -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/8/2006 6:34:31 AM)

Personally, I'm very glad that CM doesn't allow explicit nude pics. There is nothing more of a turn off to me than a supposed Dom who displays a pic of his genitals for all to see, like you see on other sites. If explicit pics were allowed here I think there would be even more insincere people just looking for quick sex or internet fantasy thrill seeking, instead of real and sincere people.

lilbitnella -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/8/2006 6:49:26 AM)

lol...excellent point. I can only imagine that the advertiser is helping pay the cost for this site perhaps?[:D]

So your not allowed to put nude or play pictures in your profile, but its ok for all the raunch and nude stuff in the advertisments? What gives?

I believe this is due to the new regulations about keeping records proving the identity and adulthood of any person who appears nude on a website.  It would be impossible for collarme to gather and keep such records on it's members, but quite easy to do so on the models in the advertisements.

TNstepsout -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/8/2006 11:29:44 AM)

I know it's not the point of the original post, but I really don't mind the somewhat conservative environment of CM. There are plenty of sites that approve of and are full of extremely explicit pics so it's kind of refreshing to find one that promotes people presenting themselves as people instead of body parts.

moon69 -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/8/2006 3:37:57 PM)

All in all there are definate laws and guidelines pertaining to adult sites.....but the main laws of the internet protocols are in effect also.  This means that even if you own a site that is NOT an adult site, there are regulations pertaining to the use of pictures in general (not just those that might be perceived as obscene).  And we are not just speaking of the obvious copywrite materials, but the use of someones picture on your site, without documentation of their approval of use is not allowed.  As is I think in some instances, it is the same of putting forth their "name" on the site as well....which is why you usually see the first name and last initial (like next to testimonials etc) instead.
The links posted above by the others who have posted here will explain the details more clearly.......I'm sure....
But with the advent of this wonderous communication tool, the net, also comes with the fraudulant and illegal aspect and activities.  CollarMe is definately assuring its being around in the future, and I am sure have the processes in the works to make it a site more viable to what we the users might like it to become... or evolve to...
Till then, yes   find groups at yahoo     or another site which we all know of that is a pay site for all the verification stipulations.
Other than that.......  trade the pics out AFTER you meet people here....should be easy enough....

moon69 -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/8/2006 3:42:06 PM)

I can agree with what you are saying......  but just remember I have seen just as many sites that have profiles of a womans genitals on display as well, instead of a picture of their face......
not that I mind however......LOL

Actually... unless something has changed very recently, you can have nude photos on CollarMe.

I had a very tasteful nude ... me wearing just my "leathers" [a strap-on harness and custom bra harness], lying on my left and looking back over my right shoulder at the camera until hmmm less than 2 weeks ago. So yes, they allow nudes.

I find a few things funny about CM and photos.

They rejected a photo of me fully clothed, in stocks and thumb-cuffs, grinning ever so mischieviously, saying it was indecent

Or the statement "Only pictures you took yourself" ... umm well I had somebody else take my pictures, one set by a certain professional photographer locally. He has a profile here, and CM was taking down his pic cause he does strange editting to them .. they thought they weren't his pictures .. yet they were! and he actually took them himself!! heheh .. and here I am, not taking my own pictures [he is] and these ones are being allowed.

Final funny thing .. are the porn ads and pics themselves. There is this one blond girl in Aylmer who has 3 different profiles, all around 22-25 .. and hmm apparently all these ads are asking for [or eventually going to be asking for] money in exchange for some sort of "service".
Hhmmm .. now if she did this on CM itself [trolling for desperate men], what sort of reputation would she get??

<grins> Enjoy the day!

If everyone had "pictures they took themselves" then everyone's profile would have a picture like someone on MySpace taking a pic a themselves through a mirror. I don't think that's worded properly. If it is, I really don't understand it because what's the harm in having a friend take a picture for you? They come out better that way. The pic I have was taken by a friend with MY camera.

As for the ads, they're very deceptive. I clicked on this pic of a cute girl. I tend to avoid the nudes and overly sexy pics because I just think most of those aren't real or they are just looking for sex. Anyway, so this girl was cute, not nude or anything and underneath her name on the ad, it said she was from Baton Rouge, LA. In fact, all of the girls that showed up said Baton Rouge, LA under their name. I went to the site, joined and then looked up her profile. Turns out she was from Kansas City and completely out of my reach.

Is this site (amateurmatch.com) using the regional information that we give to CollarMe in order to find local people to trick us into thinking we might also find someone locally there? After I joined, there were no entries for Baton Rouge, so it's a total waste of my time. I'm glad I didn't use my primary e-mail for that site.

MHOO314 -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/9/2006 11:23:54 AM)

well I am tired of girls with legs spread showing their wide open caverns---that insults Me---ugh

lol, I noticed that same thing.
Mine has a bunch of these supermodel looking gals with "perfect" hair, "perfect" teeth, "perfect" figures, the whole nine yards... and all of them say they are from my local town here in West Virginia.
I'm like... yeah... ummm...  have these advertisers ever actually *seen* the popultion here in Redneck Podunk nowhere???

Amateurmatch is more likely using the geographic information they obtain from a lookup using your IP address.  The ads change location when the location of the computer I'm using does.

DARKDES1RE -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/9/2006 12:27:08 PM)

This is just there form of control and censorship. The moderators of this site do have an odd sort to them. Censor one but not another. Makes one wonder what gives?

Lordandmaster -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/9/2006 12:31:33 PM)

I agree that it's a problem because one of the most prominent new advertisers, amateurmatch.com, is supposed to be a personals site.  And they advertise with one nude picture after another.

To make matters worse, amateurmatch.com appears to be a complete fraud.  I joined that site (it's supposed to be a free site), got a username and password, and...I wasn't able to log in.  I contacted their Customer Service, got a "ticket number," and never heard from them again.  Also, you'll see that each little photo has a screen name for that person and a location that happens to be near your IP address.  Well, google those names.  You'll find the same screen names, with the same pictures, associated with other places in the country.  Obviously Google caught a screen that someone called up in California, Wisconsin, or wherever.  In other words, all those ads are phoney.

I work for an online site, which has to be very careful also because we work in a similar realm as CM - and when CM says "pictures you took yourself" they mean "pictures that you own the copyright for".  If you held the camera and took the picture, you own it, because you were the “artist” who framed the picture, made the light just so, made the person smile, etc.  You get the picture? (ouch!)  So, technically, your friend who takes the pictures owns the copyright to it, but most likely will not sue CM for you using it.  But if you submit one that has a watermark, CM most likely would say you don’t own it, unless you could show you owned the watermark, or had a document that showed the artist sold you/ gave you the right to publish the picture.  (ever go to the mall to have your picture taken…?)

The picture self-censorship is due to the governments' restriction in 1995 of child pornography Title 18, Part I, chapter 110: Sexual exploitation and other abuse of children (most people call the "2257 law" because it is section 2257 which codifies the way your records must be kept to prove that the people in the pictures are over 18 years old at the time the photo was taken).  This details what constitutes sexual exploitation of children, selling or buying of children (not "how-to", c'mon...), the record keeping to verify that you have pictures of people over 18, and the way the government can f**k you - oops - your criminal liability if you don't toe the line.  Very interesting reading, I suggest everyone take a peek.  So, many who have spoken that have said CM is covering their ass are correct – they are keeping a firm grip on their assets by not letting you expose yours.

*laughing* and yes, I took MY picture myself.  Used a tripod and cropped the left arm out of the picture.

Perfect Teeth AND from West Virginia?!?   That's when it got unbelievable!

I live outside a little town 15 miles from the outskirts of Raleigh, NC  (how small is it?) It is so small they have to use the next town over's name to try to entice me.  Wendell, NC doesn't even register on their databases!

Your not allowed nudes on CM profiles?

I'm not being sarcastic here.

I suppose I am suprised because I have seen more than a few nudes.

I can't count how many times I would log into CM and have a nude domme holding a fish in her hand on my screen.

Is it simply that mods are catching them as they go up and screening old profiles?

You can have nude pics, but then why are my pics that are NOT nudes rejected and do NOT have bondage in them. Someone explain that one. No bondage pics are allowed, yet, its on the list of interests. I have been told some of my pics are 'indecent' or 'not approprate for this site' when I ask for an explination, I just get the same thing that others have mentioned' yet, their are plenty of nude and kinda ranchy pics that are still up.

CM is weird about things, I guess it depends on who looks at your pics, if they think you are 'competition' or something like that. I have had the same pic rejected 3 times, then all of a sudden its approved when I submit it a 4th time. Weird.

MistressLove999 -> RE: Collarme Profiles, What Gives? (5/12/2006 1:33:22 PM)

Even more sicking is in the ALT site geesh most of the males think they have to use the pics of cocks as profile pics ugh. Don't know why cause I sure as hell ain't gonna be talking to that part of him. LOL.
