For anybody who doesn't know, "As The Collar Turns" is the name of the cute little scroll at the top of the screen.  It puts up the beginning lines of the most recent additions to the forums.  I have a habit of looking at it because that is where I often find remarks that have been made or where I've been quoted.

Every now and again, I will notice that the title of a thread will have changed on the scroll.  For example, right now there is one that has changed to "Freud would be amused".  That's not the real title of the thread that is on the forum, though it really is funny knowing what thread it really came from.

It's not a singular occurrence.  I've noticed it happening on several occasions.  Does anybody know why it happens?  Other than for our amusement, I mean.

I didn't know anyone could change the topic line.

I so try to stay away from the feeding frenzy threads, trolls can get awfully big and ugly, yanno!!

It doesn't just happen on troll threads.  At least, I don't think it does.  I know it doesn't happen on all threads and it's not something that is done by the author of a thread.  If you catch it, some of them are funny.  I was just wondering how it worked.

If you go past two posts with the changed title it sticks in the rolling thunder. (since what I think the rolling thunder does, is grab the last few posts in the thread to stick in the marquee.)

The funniest thing is when people censor the title - Peon started one with the word 'fuck' or something in it recently, and someone (who i will not name) put a star in it. I only noticed 'cause Tantriqu laughed at them.

I remember one thread in the Gorean section where the title changed at times which was...quite amusing (though thats rather an understatement) but thats how I realised that thread titles can be changed.

When our dearest Holly started to be more absent in her own thread I also changed that title once into sort of the holly and Potty show without Holly or something like that....sometimes it caaaaaaan be tempting....
