Every president since and including Truman has gone to war without congressional approval, all approval was after the fact. W is iffy, but look what that got us. You may easily google this fact. If Obama obtains Congressional approval for his Libyan war then the legal footing for his war will have changed. At this time Obama seems to be taking the position that he can legally commit the US military to a conflict in Libya without Congressional approval. At the moment your premise is faulty in that Obama seems to be dispensing with any attempt to gain Congressional approval. The USA is not meant to have an Imperial Presidency despite Obama's new view on the US Constitution. "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." Read the war powers resolution usc 50 1581-like 1586 or so...he's got time, I hope to fuck we are out of there before he has to according to statute. Are you totally bereft of your senses? Are you saying that Reagan making war and invading Libya was due to imminent american threat? invading Grenada? invading Panama? The Panama canal was at one time vital to the USA's interests, actual US citizens are worthy of protecting (Grenada), actual attacks on US interests or citizens decades ago with a fresh response from the USA on Libya all involve at least a glimmer of imminent threat to the US. Aiding armed Muslim Insurgent in a Libyan Civil War doesn't even supply a tiny pretext of imminent threat. Mission Creep occurs every day in Libya. Obama has exposed his Democrat loyalists as neo cons with Socialist leanings and the same basic drive as lemmings.

You just brightened my day. I'm actually laughing at you. I ignore the Birthers entirely, its a specious arguement. You can't accept it but I'm an Independent. I hated the "Decider". Obama is much worse though. Of course there are US citizens in Libya, some of them aren't working for the CIA. Grenada involved kidnapped students who were armed with textbooks.
