Please settle this argument I had with CreepyStalker this morning. The person who makes the bruises owns them, right?

I disagree.. even if you didnt INFLICT them yourself, you allowed them to be inflicted upon you... therefore, they are yours.
edited for a poor use of mousing

sirsholly -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 5:41:04 AM)

it depends on who owns the ass....

Of course I own the bruises. I own the bruisee, do I not?

DarkSteven -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 6:47:48 AM)

The bruises are a gift.  The bruisee owns them.  Obviously, at the very least she has custody of them,

HEY! That's what -I- was getting ready to say!

Andalusite -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 6:57:12 AM)

Saying, "Look at my bruises all over my ass" is confusing if you mean the ones you inflicted on your slave. [;)]

FukinTroll -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 7:01:23 AM)

According to the letter of American law, the bruiser owns them.

Slurp~

Reaching, people... seriously reaching for a topic here...

LadyPact -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 7:04:55 AM)

If I own the person, I own the bruises.  Just like any other part of the body that I own.  Nobody would think it odd if I said I owned My submissive's cock.  Why would the bruises be any different?

Casual play is a different story.  If I don't own the person, I might be responsible for the effects, but I don't own them.

So then you say 'look at my bruises all over this arse!' [8D][8D]

For reference, this isn't an ownership situation, but it's not casual either. And the thread's just a bit of semantic silliness I thought might make some people laugh (although obviously not sunshinemiss) which is why it's in P&ORS.

And poise, I will be calling myself the Da Vinci of the Derriere forever now! [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Andalusite -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 7:17:48 AM)

I meant you in the general sense, not you specifically. I suppose I should have said one's slave, but was trying to express that if you say "My whatever" when referring to body parts or other physical aspects of another person, it can be a little confusing. The double possessive was kinda the point. ;) The first few times I saw a Domme online refer to "My cock" I assumed they were transgendered.

Yeah, but you own her, so at best, she is subletting them, meaning she could kinda be considered the bruise equivalent of a tenement farmer.

Mmhhhhuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww!

ResidentSadist -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 8:30:42 AM)

I think the answer is situation relevant.

In a bar fight - Nobody owns bruises; they are the free spirits of the injury world.

In non consensual abuse - This premise is flawed - the bruisee owns the bruises. (or becomes court evidence)

In Master / slave relationship - This premise is valid - the bruiser owns the bruises.  (owns the bruisee)

Slap & tickle fans - Bruises?!? What sort of a monster are you?

Sorry, she can't touch the Bruiser on this one. We're talking about the Goddess of Creativity! *buffs your crown and grins*

I laughed, VC... FWIW. [:)] And I haven't had bruises on me since last May, so I don't feel like I can reply properly. *giggles*

NocturnalStalker -> RE: 'I made the bruises, therefore they are mine!' (4/4/2011 7:35:41 PM)

Spousal abuse is no laughing matter.
