Anyone crave to be creative? To write, photograph, draw, wander in your mind?

Aileen1968 -> RE: is creativity a kink? (4/8/2011 6:14:29 PM)

I'm very lucky in that what I get to do for a living is creative and enjoyable.

I am envious...but my question is can you get off in your mind, body and spirt through creativity?

I can't, but that does not mean that you can't, or that the next person down the line can't.

To answer the original question though...I do not believe that creativity is a 'kink'

Just my opinion though.

That would depend upon how you define 'get off'.

Art and creativity gets me off.........but not in a sexual way. It's a total high. I am lucky to have a lot of art and creativity in my life. My hobbies are all creative. One even makes me some money. I have friends that are sucessful artists and I am fortunate to have a creative and artistic outlook on my surroundings. I can get excited over a found rock.

I used to be very creative when I was younger. I could draw, write and just create.

Once my daughter was born though I seem to have lost it all completely. Now she's the one who is creative and has more imagination and talent than I ever had. I always say she sucked it all outta me when she was born lol.

I still crave to be like I used to be but have resigned myself to the fact that I'm simply not anymore.

Kids have a way of doing that to you.  It's the shift of priorities their presence causes.

I keep hoping that now that mine are grown and gone, that I'll remember or re-learn how to have fun and be creative.  [;)]

littlewonder -> RE: is creativity a kink? (4/8/2011 8:37:03 PM)

exactly the same here..the kiddo moved out on her own last year and now I'm trying to get some of that back. Unfortunately my time is being eaten up by selling a home, seeking a new job, work, etc....

I keep hoping that once I move I can start to get some of that back because I'll hopefully have some free time to do so.

Finding a cool rock is definetly pleasing, Exploring it's differences, color, shape..etc..
Creativity is definetly a factor in kink. Using creativity to please Maam, through poetry, articulating pain , pleasure
and visions.

The creativity that really gets me off is coloring my mind with found images in my mind.
Describing them to Maam as it unfolds can be very erotic(during and after in poetry and art images)!

Creating real life senerios is very erotic also!
I believe the mind stimulates the body with creativity!

After leaving a LTR I found many new and old creative dimentions open up.
I still am not drawing. I long to.

Perhaps meditation would help you visualize thoughts.

Creativity is not a kink to me, nor does it get me off. What it is, is my obsession. When creating the world around me ceases to exist. People can come in and talk to me but while my head is trying to focus on them my soul is searching for the next solution.

DarkSteven -> RE: is creativity a kink? (4/9/2011 11:31:53 AM)

My concept of creativity may not mesh with yours.  When I finish a really succinct analysis, with a clear conclusion which cannot be disputed - to me, that's creative.

When I design a standup routine and deliver it, that's also creative.

Greetings,

Creativity has always been a staple of my life and something my previous partners encouraged wholeheartedly. i consider these outputs as creative expressions of submission or art as service if you will. However, i derive no physical stimulation save when i'm directing my efforts towards ideas that are sexual in nature.

Namaste,

I can work on a picture and/or a poem and feel it stir my emotions.
I feel the energy of pain and pleasure flow through me, inspiring me with thoughts of images and color, sounds, tempeture and even moisture.
I need to capture it on paper, in thought or sharing thoughts and feelings with Maam.
That to me is erotic creativity and yes, it can be alittle twisted sometimes..

To me thats called a nightmare as it just brings back some frustrating memories [&:]

Can creativity get me off? Sure it can. I was always very creative and at present it is supressed...as it wasn't part of my life as much a it used to be part of my life back home...however...this though shall pass and it will change again [:)]

Back home, until seven years ago, most of the time my mind was wondering on its various creative projects and that fitted really well with my work when I worked in children's homes....as I could use that fact in my work with these kids and also help them to find out their creativity. I had times where a colleague and other pupils in my college which I had to attend to learn that job back home asked for suggestions.

I truly love to get my hands dirty in creative ways...[:)]

Artistic types are known to get "lost" in the right side of their brain - this is why it can be difficult for a painter to talk while painting. Painting is located on the right side
of the brain while speaking is on the left (so is telling time for that matter - which can be a hindrance for artists who have appointments).

"get off"... well ... I get lost in a story, I can get lost in the dance. I can get lost in my simple little paintings. But "get off"? in a sexual way? No. It can easily lead to a sexual experience due to the opened awareness that comes with art. I believe people often will turn off / down our sexuality in real life. Very few people have the ability to be that open or the discipline to be aware, allow it to grow and not act upon it.

Sensuality can be morphed into sex. It doesn't have to be. It can be a rapturous experience in and of itself.

best,
sunshine

MissImmortalPain -> RE: is creativity a kink? (4/9/2011 6:38:51 PM)

Yes, yes, yes you can. I had a conversation with a sub the other day that asked me if I thought the desire for sex and the desire to create came from the same place. I told him yes they are the same dark brooding animal. An animal that lives in each of us but is rarely allowed to be free. As a sexual person I know that sexuality has forced(yes forced) me to be artistic before. And as an artist I know that the act of creating something has before left me in such a state of (what a nice word for this) "emotion" that my body has moved on it's own to forefill it's desires. Or maybe I'm just lucky.

When I have had times of less creativity is when I see how much being creative means to me. It is as if a part of my self dries up and all the benefits of being creative, all the joys, fruitfulness and inspiration are not there to strengthen me and bloom. Is is like the fruit of my tree, don't bud and bloom and I am just a tree. I cannot force it. It has to come naturally and after a time, I will start craving my creativity and productiveness. I will think I should do something. A few days or weeks go by and I will think it again or take it a step further. I will then go to the stage of wanting to do something and on and on until one day, I must do it or I will be obsessed with creative thoughts and must make them happen. To deny them, I whither inside. To not be able to do them... is a soul-ache.

The other night someone was at my house and we started talking about wood and walking/hiking sticks. We spoke of many things we had in common and how we worked the wood or how we did this or that. It makes you want to rush out and work and with this person, you want to team up and be creative together or share it with them. Having someone else that takes a part in what you do to inspire, create or be true to your creativity... is erotic in a sense. You let the creative juices flow... how can that not have an effect? It makes you want to just hug somebody... or... get creative even in that! [;)]

I can get lost in creativity. In the mental picture of it all, in the obsession at times, to do it or in doing it and all else takes a back seat. Your mind is caught up, time passes quickly without notice and when woken or you realize you have been lost in it, you are startled because you didn't realize how much you were missing because you were so involved. When not working on it, you are thinking about it. It takes a real focus to not become so involved and a lot of practice not to make other things take a back seat.

Is it erotic? Hell yes! Is it orgasmic? Hell yes! Different than a sexual high, but still a high...
