Now, we all know that the lucrative (or not so lucrative) branch of this lifestyle is largely held by the fairer sex. But, on occasion, I've been approached by people offering to pay for my services, either to learn the ropes as a student, or to have a play session.

Personally, I really don't feel comfortable charging for something that I love doing. However, I can't say that I am entirely opposed in every case. But then, I have no idea what a fair charge would be.

Anyone familiar with this dilemma?

As for your problem, charge what you think what your time is worth. For me when i do private sessions i generally charge about 600 for 3 hours, that is pretty cheap. Also take into consideration what you will be doing to them and your skill level and rarity of the skill that you will be performing in your area. If you do things like fire play, neddle work and shabari( real shabari) you can charge more because those types of activites take alot more skill and can be more dangrous. Another thing if you do charge in private sessions, make sure there is no sex involed, if you do it is considered prosistion. even having someone masterbating in the same room as you can be considered as it and you can get into trouble for it. Who you charge is all up to you. Welcome to the world of professinal Doming. The key thing for you to remeber when you do things like this is that it is just business. Get paid for something you like doing go for it, but just be careful that you dont numb yourself in doing it so much when you do play with the ones you do this for pleasure with aka your sub/slave. if that happens then you lost something very special.

How can you charger for doing something you love, well i tell myself this i am providing a service that pleases people that is hard to find. if you can a great satisfaction on knowing that you made a person day week or month you should be fine doing it.

i hope this helps if you got any questions, shoot i dont never mind helping people out.

M. Erusvi-

The first time I was asked what my rates would be, I was gobsmacked, having thought that they were just seeking some advice on how to go about this stuff, but out of somewhere rattled off that I got a hundred for an short scene of an hour or so, and three hundred for an evening to which they replied "Each? or for both of us?".

At which point I magnamously told the two adorable submissive lesbians I'd work with them two for one<g>.

Neither did I, and after our first session, I told Lucy and Ethel that I wasn't going to charge them, but they insisted that they must pay- a way, for them, of maintaining some control, and keeping it from seeming a sexual interaction, too, I suppose.

Similarlly, my other paying client, a married lady who want to learn to dominate her husband (who'd annouced that he had a deep rooted need to submit to a women, and would be leaving to persue such, if she didn't step up), also was very clear about paying for the service, for much the same reasons.

Stay warm,
Lawrence

Why not??????

It seems that you should be happy and feel fortunate to support yourself/habits/hobbies/vacations/etc. by doing something that you love. Think of the number of people who struggle throught every single day, dreading it, and dragging themselves to the end of it, with only the sad realization they must do so again tomorrow. Okay, so that may be a bit dramatic, but, I'm guessing, close tot he truth. You SHOULD be happy and joyful and enjoy what you do.

I am fortunate that I have a job I love and is fun for me most days. SOmetimes there are occassions frustrations, but that is life. I am a joyful and fortunate person - I recognize it and wouldn't trade it for anything.

This opportunity to work doing something you love, enjoy it to the fullest and leave the guilt and second guessing behind.

I have to agree with NewFlowers here.

Isn't that the American Dream? Finding a career that you love? Would'nt you strive your absolute best to be the best? The idea of Pro male Doms isn't widespread. Myself, I don't know if I would ever go to one.
The only reason for that though is because I can find play partners on my own. Safe ones.

However, if someone had a specific talent. Which I wanted to feel. Yep, I would more than likely ask them. I'd talk it over with Doug and actually ask them to teach him. If I wasn't in my current situation I may pay a certain price. If I thought it was worth it to me.
I don't feel you should feel guilty it isn't like you're asking for money slaves.

I should explain. I'm in no danger of making a living out of this. I'm not getting that many requests Besides, I couldn't imagine it. Much of my aversion stems from an important principle - 'Do not live to work, rather work to live'. I'm fortunate to have a career that I enjoy, but it is hardly my passion. When I leave work at the end of the day, everything about work turns to vapor, until I return the next day.

I think that making a job out of your passion seems idyllic until the realities of that undertaking start mucking up the works. Over time, the trials and tribulations of 'work' can leave their taint on what was once your inspiration. There are certainly always exceptions; but exceptions are not the rule by their very nature.

Consider having to do play sessions to make your mortgage payments. Consider having to do play sessions with whoever can get you the money in time to get your bills paid.

Yeah... I'll pass. I'd much rather keep my passion unsullied by my profession.

But then, that's me. Your results may vary.
