Revenge93 -> Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 3:27:38 PM)

The sub and I have a curiosity for cutting and blood play, but other than what she has told me she would like, I haven't been able to find much information about techniques and safety. I, of course, want to read everything I can to make sure I keep her safe before we try anything. We are both inexperienced with this and there doesn't seem to be many online resources for it. Could anybody point me in the right direction or offer some tips and advice?

I would personally recommend that you find someone with good experience to learn from. Preferably someone with medical knowledge. Try venturing out to your local community as a resource.

Revenge93 -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 3:36:25 PM)

Unfortunately, this is a somewhat removed area without a larger BDSM/fetish community, so I have no resources for education outside of the internet.

Madame4a -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 3:48:09 PM)

You can't find anything because its best learned in person. Not sure where you are.l .. but find a group, some workshops.. maybe an event...

I do a lot of blood play, but I wouldn't give anyone info on the internet about it

well.. you might find something if you look.. have you? if not, its time to travel... or if its really important to you, maybe its time to move

Cutting is not something that you can learn over the internet. End of story. You need to meet with others who know what they are doing; attend some demo's; talk to people in person.

Personally, I would never let someone use a knife on me, with the intention of drawing blood, who did not have first hand, real time, up close and personal experience with drawing blood this way.

The first thing that came to mind while reading your post, OP, is something LadyPact wrote on a thread a while ago. Basically, from what I can remember (pardon me, LP, if I don't quote directly but I don't remember the exact thread) she made mention to the fact that there are some topics that she wouldn't give information on to random strangers online. Things like fire play and, in my opinion, blood play are activities you make the effort to learn from someone who knows...in person.

I recently attended a fire play demo and that concept was reinforced 100%.

OP, I like blood and sharp objects, but the only link I'm willing to share, with a clear conscienous is for the American Red Cross. Learn first aid and find a way to get to some local munches or demos (check FetLife) and take the time to meet others who are much more versed in this type of play before following some blurb found online.

Good luck.

How do I find information about demos or places to learn more on this particular subject? I believe the closest city to me that would have an active BDSM community would be Atlanta GA, which is still 6-7 hours driving time. I would prefer to read more online first. At this point, it's only a curiosity (it's actually more my sub's fetish than mine). I only want to read about other people's experience for now.

I'm not an idiot. I'm not going to read some online article and immediately begin poking around with a knife. I won't touch my sub until I'm 100% comfortable and confident about this. I'm not someone that would take a safety risk on something like this. It's rather serious fetish.

Madame4a -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 4:08:06 PM)

Where do you live? I'm guessing there might be something closer...

there are several ways to find stuff.. but pick your closest city.. closer than atlanta.. and type the name in google +bdsm and see what comes up

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 4:10:52 PM)

Bloodplay is overrated.  Doesn't even taste that good.

coookie -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 4:11:23 PM)

Fetlife as already stated can be a great resource for a local community. Other than that you can google bdsm and your state.

I have personally never done it though i have watched it being done. I am not a fan personally

DarkSteven -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 4:38:10 PM)

LadyPact would be a great resource.  She does cutting and she used to live in Georgia.  She'd know where you could go to learn.

Muttling -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 7:09:21 PM)

In one post, you don't understand collars.   In this post, you don't understand blood play.

You have MUCH to learn and you need to leave the more extreme aspects (such as blood play) alone until you understand collars.

I wasn't aware it was such a problem to ask questions. I've said multiple times that we're not currently trying anything, that I'm looking for material to read. Use some common sense.

TheHeretic -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/15/2011 8:50:15 PM)

Get a nice new surgical needle, use it like a pen to draw a tic-tac-toe crosshatch or something on her breast. Get a taste. If you are into into it, seek real life expertise (as already described) before you bring out the exacto knives.

Mmmm... fresh blood on the breasts. Yummy.

Gray's Anatomy. Best book ever for BDSM enthusiasts.

Bloodsports . . . we talking scratch and trickle or cut and bleed?

[image]http://residentsadist.com/rsdraft/pics-my-photos/myphotos/Tori_Knife_needles.jpg[/image]

^ Whether it is like this scratch and trickle, deep cutting or mock surgery that requires sutures to close the wounds, I reinforce what others have said.  You and your potential victims will be better off if you learn from a coach/mentor than from an internet thread.

I am flamboyant and fast with a knife . . . it’s not a studious or methodical task, it’s a fast, passionate and violent act.  People watching wonder how I avoid cutting too deep.  I keep my finger alongside the knife blade like a guard, it acts as a depth gauge.  The knife will still cut to a depth that causes free flowing blood because your finger will flex out of the way when you press the knife into skin.  All in all, it’s not something I suggest as a starting point.

A needle held sideways will scratch the living shit outta’ someone and draw blood.

My Husband doesn't cut, but He appreciates the pinwheel and it leaves deep red lines if He does it hard enough.
We also have no problem getting jiggy when i'm on my period... long live the mess

Kana -> RE: Who has experience with blood play? (4/16/2011 5:53:15 AM)

I've done a bit or two of cutting in my day.
