I am absolutely inclined to agree with that. With the do me male subs, the precious princess and little girl female subs and the sheer ratio of males to females here, I think that is a correct assessment.

For the sake of clarity, not all categories are entirely made up of the above. Merely noting I do see a large amount of bratty spoiled "precious" little subs roaming the halls here.

I don't see narcissism as a defining character trait of either dominants or submissives, and would imagine the incident rate of those who would be clinically diagnosed as narcissists in the D/s - BDSM community is likely the same as that in the general population.

There is probably a slightly higher rate in the community because people of submissive character fill the need for a narcissists "supply source".

In my time on CM I have read some stuff I would consider fairly anti-social. These dominants wouldn't appeal to me, and I wouldn't appeal to them, period. The word "narcissist" sometimes occurs to me when I have read certain profiles and emails... but in the end it might not be that at all. Perhaps there are some men that think that sort of talk appeals to their target audience, you know "uber doms".

I am not professionally trained to diagnose anyone, much less those on the internet. I can say that certain types of profiles raise a red flag for me personally.

As with most vices you'll find narcissism is well represented in dominant and submissive persons. No one has a monopoly in my opinion. What differs is how each elects to display their vanity.
