You were indeed very lucky as was I with my first Master.  I was lucky he found me before anyone else.  Talk about ripe for the picking!  I, too, had lost my husband and had just started to open up to the world around me.  Unfortunately, we (Master and I) grew in somewhat different directions and we are no longer together.  When I was alone, after Master, I was not as cautious as I might normally be and I fell for some online crap.  However, I quickly found out that they were fakes.  I understand your "yet still" and I agree that they are easy to see through in real life, but some of those on the net never get to real life.  It doesn't mean that they aren't hurt (really hurt) when they find out that the guy they invested themselves in is a poser.

Thanks for taking that in the spirit intended...man, I think/type faster than my fingers can keep up; I only use five fingers and thumbs...and I STILL cannot hit the correct keys...

Status: offline 		Ok, I feel compelled to say that I really can appreciate people exploring bdsm online and the subsequent relationships that develop and I can really appreciate the feelings that transpire and are exchanged...I dont want to sound like I'm being horrible to people who have a purely online relationship...its just that the OP was ranting about how online effects potential subs etc....but if He has all that experience he is inferring...I dont know why it concerns him...surely he has other avenues to find a slave than online..so let the online people be who they want...and go find some real flesh.

That's exactly the same feeling I get when someone starts the "Why isn't someone responding to my emails?" Thread.  We're all dealing with the same pool out there- obviously some doms are hooking up and some subs are hoooking up.  If you've got the skills, then this shouldn't be a problem, and if you don't, then it's not someone else's problem.

Status: offline 		YES and NO, I want to have the benefit of online meeting and the subsiquent real face to face meetings.I do get real meetings....but far less that I believe I should from online, either here or on a__, B______. .
I do agree with you, MOST of my friends/ play partners are from refferals. BUT I want a specific person not one I might get lucky to find via friends, or munches only.I can travel, even relocate IF I find what i want 
Also sorry to inply ANY abilities, just a simple man who has taken the time and energy to constantly study and work hard in this fantastic art of domination.. I am here to MEET and learn.......to cease to learn is a disservice to those I want and or own/control..They deserve the best I can be! For them and for myself.

I've read many of your posts...I've never seen you be horrible to anyone.  It IS hard to understand how someone who has had r/l experience can "fall for" a line of cyber crap.  But it happens...unfortunately.  On the bright side, I've met a wonderful dom here on CM and, so far, we've gotten along great!  But, I am taking it slowly.

I am single(yes I do play, HI kali, gwnn and wk), no kids, in shape, verifiable REAL experience, non smoker, non drinker,.no STD's whatsoever, average looking, ability to travel and or move anywhere, and willing to be very humble, but always agressive.
If I send an email I expect 50% reply, which I get about. Some say good things, others say no thank you. That is all I ask.  From there I get 75% on phone within second or third email ,I HATE CYBER , other than a tool.. I am very bad at im and chat, read my profile you see I speak of it..SO I have a tollfree number to facilitate calling..Of those I talk to I do very well in meeting FAST. kali is a good example of that( I took her profile off a few days ago, but have pics to prove whatever you need to see). It is the 50% that does not reply that usually is what I want to meet. Hence I am still looking!!! Most of my longterm friends here emailed me FIRST, I thought that was normal , now I know that I must just get lucky in people emialing me first.....I like that !! I know many of the people are fake slaves online, but many are real.
3 years ago I meet a girl at a munch, I did not know her.and we had a great time. When it was over she told me that she had blocked my emails , because she thought I was a fake! I did not know I ever emailed her. She knew my bondage com name. What I gathered from that was I am not good online BUT in person I am different........I HATE THAT, it keeps me from utilizing the internet to its fullist extent. So to answer your question...........all I want is 1 reply ...from the one I will own forever 24/7/265.

Status: offline 		slavejali, I understand your concern which comes off as disconcern as I read your replies to this thread.  I can somewhat understand your response as to why the OP should be concerned about other peoples experience working their way into, through etc. the lifestyle whether a submissive or a slave.  However I can not accept the logic of dismissal of what is the sharing of information. 

General comments:

Are we missing the topic here or going after the original poster.  I think exchange of ideas on this topic are a good source of information but I hate to say it (and really have no intent on being offences to anyone although I know this will) but I personally am tired of the feedbacks that suggest others should not be concerned about what others are doing, that things are up to the individuals involved and there is little room for input when someone is requesting feedback.  It does not come to any surprise to me why people have critism of the lifestyles and/or there is so much internal politics.  Everyone shares a common interest, bond it, relish in it, share knowledge with others of lessons you have learnt, and accept differences (in all aspects). 

I had a conversation with a very knowledgable person a few days ago, and have to concur in the description that the lifestyle is getting watered down; a lifestyle that use to have protocol, where others were concerned of others safety, where sharing knowledge was and going to those that experience was not only recommended but insistented upon.  I personally have seen a sharp decline in the willingness of the above and even protocols that where demanded On-line and Off.  If we refrain from any than we can not expect any (does the lifestyle disappear as soon as one comes on-line - give that one a thought, please).

Wonders off.  Sorry to those offended.  Had to speak what has been bothering me as of late.

Status: offline 		A lot of women that come online thinking they want a dom are probably woman that really only want a man that is a man, not necesarily a sexual dom. Others just want to play out their fantasies and not feel the pain and discomfort of real submission. Then there are the few that are truly submissive and want all that goes with it. But in any case if most women really knew what a dom is and what they may want of them would have themselves committed before becoming involved with one. Most doms I know are not the cuddly teddy bears written about in newbe profiles.

Status: offline 		Well!  Lots of ground to cover here.  First and foremost...the world is full of players, wannabes, fakes and people who don't see things the same way you do.  That's just the facts.  All consider themselves "real".  Very few, if any, will ever admit to anything else.  Newbies will sometimes admit to being newbies and that's about it.

Secondly, change means growth and that's not such a bad thing.  Just because things have always been a certain way, doesn't mean that they should continue in that same way.  Food for thought.

Lastly, the world is not your oyster.  You have to search for the pearl.

SIR--I do understand the post, as you watch the Titanic travel through the ice flows, you know what will happen next, as you have seen this happen so often and you're heart hurts to see this happen but, there is no way you're able to stop what will happen; much like an unbroken loop of film.
 
Frustrated like many on the message boards, seeing those with words that charm the skin right off a snake, making them a pair of boots.  The sort that get away with credit card fraud, sell lemons as new cars.
The old wise words of, if it is to good to be true, it usually is.  Yet, people willingly walk into things despite all the warnings and advice.
 
All that can be done is offering advice, directing them to groups, network tools and being the gentleman you are--is all that can be done.

People seeking often think with their hearts, those who prey on such will say the words such 'want' to hear--instead of what they 'need' to hear.

Indeed, as one poster pointed out so lovely, there was a time where there was stricter protocols of what was behavior tolerated.  There has been such political correctness that few explain what SCC and or RACK is anymore, let alone real good protocols for safe meetings when new.
People new, get so may 'do this-do that-don't do this-don't do that' -- that gets confusing also. 

If I had the ability, I would round up a bunch of wonderful souls--
known presenters and volunteers and bus to places where clubs and support groups don't exist.  I wouldn't want it to be a circus--but a tour might be the "ticket."

But, until that is possible for anybody to do such a tour and the like; I submit for consideration that those of us must try to be as helpful as possible and share all we are able to do.

Nothing is perfect in life, neither is going through the journey of BDSM, D/s and or M/s.  But, as for the Perfect Dom/sub -- I would say, I would want a personal inspection, under the hood and measure up to my ruler/tape measure before I'd put "perfect" on the inspection sheet.
