ORIGINAL: Edwynn I sometimes see [awaiting approval] in place of some posts. If I may ask, what does this mean? I have seen this on several occasions, but I have yet to see posts thus labeled as ever coming through, or being 'approved.' I'm not sure if this has to do with some moderator sanction or what, but even if that be the case something more descriptive might be helpful. Anyone with experience or understanding of this phenomena are welcome to enlighten me here. Those of us who have been around a bit can catch the offending post (the one that actually gets the person moderated) if it happens on a thread that we've been reading. Earlier today, somebody caught the nice [awaiting approval] tag during the course of a thread. I'm not even a Mod and it was easy for Me to figure out which posts were at least on the line with TOS and probably what took the poster to moderated status since he'd already been pushing it during the course of the thread. During the period that a poster is moderated, all of their posts get reviewed. Here's the catch on how much time it takes for that to happen. Moderators have lives, jobs, etc like everybody else. If somebody makes a post at 3:00 AM My time in CA, who knows if there is even a Mod awake at that hour to approve the thing. Not to mention, they are already doing other things for the site and that might not be the primary responsibility. I hope that answers a bit further and I've done My part to be on topic *and* contribute to the ten pages. [;)]
